Vehicle Detail

I have been looking at this project for a while now, and have yet to finish it so its time for it to go. I got the truck on trade for a motorcycle, and I did not build it. It is a 1952 Chevrolet 5-window truck on a 1997 S10 chassis with drivetrain. The builder did a lot of unique things, and I wish that I could finish it but, honestly, I'm lazy! The truck is without a doubt a rat rod, and is rusty and full of patina. This would be an excellent daily driver, but will never be a resto project or show truck. First things first, the truck needs and engine as it did when I got it. I have a low mileage engine which will be included, and I was able to hear run prior to its removal. The drivetrain is a fuel-injected 2.2L with 5-speed trans. The truck fires right up and runs, but sounds like it spun a rod bearing and has a dead cylinder. This truck was built using the S10 firewall, floorpan, and bedfloor which means that it is mounted to the frame the way the factory intended. It has rubber body mounts, so it will not rattle, squeak or bang. Having the S10 firewall and floorpan also means the everything is where it should be. It's a pretty cool concept! The truck has daytime running lights, ABS brakes, heat, stereo, 3-point seat belts, vanity lights in the visors, map lights in the rearview mirror, spare under the bed, and so much more. All of the lighting works, as well as the horn. The truck does have a few flaws and items that need to be addressed. The engine being priority number one. The remaining list is actually fairly short. The truck needs door glass. They are both cracked, and the drivers side will also need the track that is attached to the bottom of the glass. The passenger seat will need to be raised. The drivers seat is mounted to angle iron brackets to raise it about 3 inches, to give it the proper position for this cab. A filler panel will need to be made for between the S10 dasboard and the lower windshield frame. The vacuum wiper motor will need to be converted to electric. The ignition does not turn all the way to the point of allowing the key to be removed. Obviously, there is rust! The rear bumper is a cool custom built piece with large wrenches and an anvil. The running boards have been patched with expanded steel and old license plates. The front marker lamp bodies are old soup cans. The spotlight is real! The more I think about the truck, the cooler it seems to me. I wish I could buy some motivation and get this thing done. If it doesn't sell, I may just have to finish it. It's too cool to not be driving! I do have a title for the S10 as well as an old registration card for the '52 body. Thanks for looking! Please contact me with any questions or to make an appointment to see it.
