Vehicle Detail

1969 MGC Roadster – 33,436 miles, Four Speed Overdrive Transmission, Chrome Wire Wheels. Soft Top (like new) and Hard Top (needs to be refinished - never used it), Roll Bar, Custom Fit Tonneau Cover, AM/FM/CD. ETC. VIN: GCN1U9003G I purchased the car on January 20, 1999 with 32,495 miles according to the previous owner. He also stated he was the third owner and had restored the car in 1994. When I received the car the brake servos were missing and the master cylinder had no assist, it also had the hard top only. I am not sure what all had been done to the car. I know it had been repainted; some body work and engine work had also been done. The paint job was not up to my standards. Neither was the interior. The hard top has been stored in the rafters of my garage and as stated needs to be refinished. I had the car repainted BMW Alpine White II and some additional body work was done. The car was painted with Sikkens Base Coat/Clear Coat paint then wet sanded and buffed. Professional paint job. All new rubber seals, windshield, bumpers, grill, soft top, roll bar, tonneau, interior, later model MGB seats installed, tires, etc. too much to list. The car brake system has been modified. An MGB master cylinder and servo have replaced the original dual servo system. The carburetors were rebuilt and a custom heat shield was fabricated. A fan that is controlled by a toggle switch was added to force additional air around the carburetors while in traffic. In September of 1999 the car was shown at OLDE SALEM DAYS ANTIQUE AUTO SHOW (Salem, VA) where it won first place in modified. It has been stored in an environmentally controlled garage and driven very little. Most driving has been on the Blue Ridge Parkway and I have only put 941miles on the car. This is not a 100 point restored stock vehicle, but is a very nice modified MGC. I have some personal statements regarding the work done prior to my possession that were provided by the previous owner. I have a copy of the Title from the previous owner showing the odometer statement which was signed by him showing actual mileage as 32,495 miles. I also have most of the many receipts for the parts I purchased and installed. The car currently is registered in Virginia as an antique vehicle and has 1969 VA vintage plates. This restricts how the car is used and how far from home it can be driven. The car is being sold as is as sets with no warranty expressed or implied! No Returns! Transportation cost and arrangements for shipping are the sole responsibility of the buyer. If the company you choose has a shipping terminal close to Roanoke, VA, upon request I could drive the car to the terminal for shipment once you have made all arrangements with the shipping company. Parts to be included with the sale will be shipped via FedEx at actual shipping cost. Most transport companies do not allow the car to contain anything other than the spare tire. Cash or bank account to bank account transfer preferred. Cashiers check will be accepted but title will not be signed until the check has cleared and the money is in my account. If the Cashiers Check is from a small local bank it may take 3 or more weeks to clear. I deal with SUN TRUST Bank. Winning bidder must make a nonrefundable deposit of $500 through PayPal 24 hours after the auction ends. If you choose to use “BUY IT NOW” PayPal deposit must be immediate. Serious bidders only. USA BIDDERS ONLYOn May-13-10 at 08:41:09 PDT, seller added the following information: For additional information, receipts, documentation, and pictures email me directly or through eBay giving me your direct email address. jwbakerjr@verizon.netOn May-14-10 at 05:27:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Buy it now and the reduced reserve price are bottom line prices. The car is insured for $12,000 which should be raised. Due to age, health problems, lack of storage/work space and other unfinished projects I need to sell this car and don't really want to have to re-list it. I am now going to list the car locally and nationwide. I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells prior to the end of the auction. On May-14-10 at 13:14:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received several questions regarding the following statement I made: "This is not a 100 point restored stock vehicle, but is a very nice modified MGC." By this I meant the car is not 100% stock and has had some modifications as stated in the ad. I also meant that is not a 100 point show room condition new car like you would bid on at Barret Jackson. I am a perfectionist and sometimes people misunderstand what I say. As stated the car did win first place in the OLDE SALEM DAYS ANTIQUE AUTO SHOW modified class and was judged by 4 judges. I think that speaks for the condition of the car.On May-14-10 at 17:35:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I will also sell to Canada. On May-14-10 at 18:51:49 PDT, seller added the following information: To Clarify: "Buy it now and the reduced reserve price are bottom line prices." The "Buy It Now" price is higher than the reserve but is the lowest "Buy It Now" price I will post. The reserve price will also not be lowered. On May-15-10 at 05:43:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I just learned that this car was one of the last 100 MGCs produced.
