Vehicle Detail

While perusing garage sales and hunting cars Ms. Law and I stumbled across this beautiful classic rusting in peace. It had a panoramic view of the San Francisco bay from the most pricey district in town. It was slowly but surely returning to the earth. Yes I have a 2002 tii here for you, and yes it does have rust. My jaw dropped when I saw the tii emblem on the tail end of this classic beemer and we left a note without much thought. A pleasant man rang us back and told us yes, he would consider selling it for the right price. We kept in touch for 2 years until I decided the time was right. We arranged a meeting and struck a deal that included towing this beauty home. This beemer has had the entire drive train and suspension rebuilt by a renowned Bay Area BMW specialist. All it took to revive the 2002 was some points and the charming little car hummed to life. The engine ran good and I have kept it running for forty five minutes while I took the pictures for this ad. The gentleman who we purchased it from was the second owner who had kept it for 30 years. This car is very complete and I am not sure that any of it is missing except for the emblem on the hood which rusted clear through to the engine bay. On the issue of rust, my muscle car guys looked upon the beemer in disgust. However, the lone beemer guy, after poking and prodding at the rust spots with an ice pick, declared it to have “moderate” rust. I feel as though a parts car is in order because the hood, trunk, and doors are pretty toasted. With a parts car, this project would probably be pretty fun. If you can get all the parts swapped over in a day and deal with the spare tire pan, I believe this car can go to paint without pulling out all your hair (I have none already). What I have here for you is a diamond in the rust… Do you have the skills? Do you have the parts/parts car? Is this what you really want? We are sitting on thousands of dollars in receipts from the previous owner. Everybody who sees the tii emblem knows the facts. This is a hard car to find and an excellent candidate for restoration. We were going to cut this baby up into a race car. Cooler heads prevailed and we decided to give you classic beemer enthusiasts what you want, an original car, for a reasonable buy-in price. We can still flare this mutha out. Only you can stop that. Thanks for reading our ad, enjoy your day. Title in hand, there is no reserve. Update: A numbers matching photo of the engine has been added to this ad. The VIN number is 2761600. This is an authentic tii. On May-13-10 at 20:28:39 PDT, seller added the following information:I was visited by a very nice gentleman for a pre-inspection. He said it looked better in person than the photos revealed. We ran the car for quite some time and it does not burn any coolant. Thanks to him for a very pleasant meeting. Sorry I was late.
