This is a 1984 VW Rabbit GTI 100% original with 63,211 original miles, with the eception a cheesy after market stereo that my father installed. This was my fathers car, hes had it for many many years. He let it sit outside for a few years, and for the last ten years it has been stored inside. He always covered the interior if it was outside. The interior in this car from the headliner to the carpet is 99% perfect with the exception of two 1/4" cracks in the ashtray and one 1/4" spot in the rear seat that may have been punctured maybe by a pen? It has been repaired, you cant see it, but it is there. The seats arent worn out, no holes, no rips in the bolsters, has some dust, thats about it, from sitting so many years.The exterior of this car has 26 year old paint on it, over the years my father waxed and buffed it as needed, but as the paint is so old it is very thin now, it still has a shine but there are some light spots in the paint. This car is very presentable, but for it to be perfect it should be repainted. I am a muscle car collector and I describe my cars the best I can without misleading anyone in any way. The under carriage of the car and the strut towers are literally rust free minus maybe some light surface spots underneath. The outside of the car is all rust free with the exception of some very light little surface rust specks, like if you have a white car with bad brakes and metal gets on the paint and rusts, but not the entire car just few spots here and there the size of the sharp end point of a pencil. There is some very small little bubbles around the rear window stripping, not holes, not huge scabs, they can be scratched off and touched up. The car has no rust holes and no rust scabs. Now the drive train and mechanics... It operates 100% perfect, shifts smooth, runs smooth, all four wheel brakes have been done in the last 100 miles, I know my father had it done. The car has no options, it was VW's Hot rod in this year, it has gauge instrumentation and thats it. The tires have great tread but are weather cracked and make road noise from sitting so long. This car is a five speed standard stick, it has no oil leaks, the downfall of the car is it has a crack in the lower part of the windshield. The car is not missing any parts, EVERY part is there.
