This is a project I started 3 years ago. I found it in BFE Arkansas. What I thought was a CJ3B, but now believe it is an M606 due to the features on the body. It has recesses for an axe and shovel, a five piece floor pan over the transmission and transfer case, and the electrical disconnect plate on the fire wall. Large hole for a military gas tank. I sent pictures to Willys Overland and they also believed it to be a M606, but with no serial number they could not say for sure. I spent many many hours getting this Jeep solid again, it is not perfect but looks good and drives good. This Jeep does not have all the original equipment. The frame is from a 1942 Willys MB, has been repaired and painted. Modified as needed. I removed the serial number tag. It has new shocks, shock plates, leaf springs, u-bolts, bushings, new front and rear crossmembers and 2 new front bumper gussets. All bolts for frame and body are grade-8. The axles have been rebuilt with new seals and bearings both front and rear. The front has new king pin bearings also. The lock-out hubs were cleaned inspected and installed. It has 9 inch drum brakes at all four corners. They have new wheel cylinders, springs and pads. The drums were turned. Also new wheel studs. Steering box rebuilt, bellcrank rebuilt, all new tie rods and tie rod ends. drag link rebuilt. Drive shafts have new U-joints. T-90 transmission has been rebuilt and the Dana 18 transfer case has also been rebuilt. The engine is a GM 153 four cylinder out of a 1969 DJ5A postal jeep. It has been rebuilt. Has stock radiator that has been pressure tested. Electric fan turns on at about 200F. New water pump, fuel pump, starter, clutch, alternator, hoses etc..... Willwood master cylinders for the clutch and brakes. They are a little stiff but still work well. The tire are Wrangler authority 31 x 10.50. New only 290 miles on them. Can't believe how quiet they are. The tub is believed to be an M606. Most of it has been repaired. It still has some dings and dents that I didn't mess with. But it is now very solid. The front fenders are kinda rough but solid, all rust spots were removed. New tailgate. The seats are out of a M38A1. Like I said the body is not perfect but it is now solid and will last many years. New civilian gas tank Military gas tank is to damn much but the tub has the large hole for it if you want to change it. There is a new sending unit in the tank but I didn't get a gauge. The gauges are new. I cut the dash and made the panel to put gauges in like an M38A1. It needs a tach and fuel gauge. The turn signals and brake lights work but the front head lights and turn signals.. are not hooked up. I checked the head lights, they are good. This Jeep is titled as a 1960 CJ3B. It is a bonded title. I've been driving this thing around town and have had no problems. Runs good, stops pretty good, (don't like drums, lol) drives straight. Love it and will build another in the future. I have started to build my dream house and am selling some of my toys. This is one of them. Still needs little odd and ends, finish the lights and windshield wipers. Air horn to hook up the oil bath air cleaner. Which has a dry filter in it ( will work nice when hooked up). Needs choke cable. Starts good the way it is. OR DRIVE AS IS. I am located in northeast Arkansas, about 2hrs from Memphis TN.
