Vehicle Detail

This is a Dodge Ram Van that has been well cared for over the years. It was my father's "baby" and after his death transferred to me. I will described the defects as best I can so that you can bid with confidence. I want the experience to be great for both of us. I also want to let you know what I know and feel comfortable sleeping at night know I did not try to shaft anyone. The van has been stored in a garage during winters since at least 1993 when my father purchased it. It runs well, but does take time to full warm up in colder months. In December it passed the Ohio emission test with flying colors and the technician told me it has lower emissions than most cars that come through the service center. The van had side boards added to ease stepping into it. These are in great condition. There is a tear in the driver's seat which is very small (in the picture with the dime). After this winter, I notes some of the ceiling material needs to be secured (also in the picture). There is a rust area on the rear bumper - passenger side, and a dark spot on the driver's side which may be the start of a rust spot, or just discoloration - also in the photographs. The air conditioner works, but does not get as cold as I would like so it will need to be recharged. It has cruise control. The brakes were replaced along with the rotors about 1 year ago. There is sometimes a squeal when the brakes are applied, but I had it checked out and was told that it was due to sitting over the winter. The rotors and pads are fine. The front passenger hub cap is not on in the photo. I have it, and will have it on by the time the auction is complete. There are 40,988 miles in the van. The odometer has NOT turned over. The van was not used much after my father retired. When I took possession of the van it had about 32,000 on it. I don't know how to prove the mileage, but I know the history and know this is the actual mileage. On the positive side, the interior seating and carpeting are in very good condition. It seats up to 8 people with ample storage room. If has tinted windows, power locks, power windows am/fm radio plus a cassette player that works! Cassettes are available at many thrift stores for less money that the "new fangled" CDs. Why am I getting rid if it? I am truly torn about this. As I indicated, the van was my father's baby and after I pulled it out of the garage this year, I noted the rust on the bumper. I don't want to watch it deteriorate. Nor do I drive it enough to justify keeping it. So with these mixed emotions, I hope to find a person that needs great transportation at a reasonable cost for either a family, work of charity. Please email me any questions you may have and I will try to respond in a reasonable time frame. This was liste before, but the buyer did not follow through with payment. Thanks for look and good luck!
