TRUE BARN FIND!!!!! This is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Hardtop Convertible. It is a true barn find that I do not know anything about. We just brought it home tonight...I will answer whatever questions I can and will post more pics as we clean it up a bit. I will also post a video of the top working. This car does need restored. It runs and drives but there are no brakes...literally, the previous owner took the master cylinder off to replace it and never finished it, the master cylinder is inside the car. From what you can see looking underneath the floorboards need replaced and so does the trunk floor. The frame looks to be in good shape. We towed the car home with a tow strap and it rolled smooth and steered fine. This car has a bunch of factory options like the chrome tissue holder and the chrome spotlights...all the chrome trim is there except a small piece above the drivers side tail light. These cars range 30-50k restored. Good luck bidding on this no reserve auction. Here are some links to video that I hope will answer some of the questions I've been getting...The metal around the headlights are solid...the interior is all there but it needs cleaned. It needs just about all weather seals..it does run good...the top needs some alignment and what we did here to operate the top was done manually by a jumper on the solinoids..the one switch operation is not currently working and I do not know what it will take to get it working like new, but it seems all parts are operational.
