For sale is my 1961 Mercedes 190b ( pontoon) This is a no reserve auction , the highest bidder wins. This would be a good parts car or a total resto. I have had this car about a year and a half, I found it in the Monterey/Seaside area where it was for about 20 years, Before that it was in the santa cruz area. Because of the ocean air there is surface rust and chrome pitting. The car ran fairly well when i picked it up, No smoke , knocking or oil leaks to speak of. It stopped turning over about 6 months ago so i took the battery out and cables off , I pulled the starter out and it checked out good. When i removed the battery i could see that the firewall behind the battery was rusted through. Also the trunk area behind where the license plate sits is rusted.It has a dent in the rear passenger door ( see photo's) and hood. The windshield and drivers window have cracks, All other windows are good. The radio is missing as well as the headliner. The seats can be recovered. The car's brakes and steering are good and it shifted into all 4 forward gears but would not go into reverse. The prior owner said it needed linkage bushings to fix the problem. I have clear California title with non opp in my name. I prefer paypal for payment with 1/2 selling price deposit at auction end. The balance due when car is picked up.
