Vehicle Detail
Hi , up for auction, i have my 1965 galaxie 500 convertible "pre-production" pilot car...you want a rare Ford?...this is the car for you!!..it has a very low VIN number, i was informed that VIN#'s 100-150 were pilot cars, this is #142, has a 352 engine, cruise-o-matic trans, that runs and drives great...still needs some body work on the 1/4's and trunk lower floor, i have a clean AZ trunk floor to use, floors are solid/repaired...what you see is what you get, i have not tried to hide rust with bondo......interior is all brand new!!...nothing to do there!..new front glass ...all new convertible top, well liner, convertible boot cover etc ...hydro-lines from pump to lift rams are new..new brakes, new Cragar SS wheels with new BFG tires..i have all the receipts for everything done/bought...car was originally Rangoon red..at the monent it's matte black...comes with the working 8-track, i put the speakers under the front seat as i didnt want to cut holes in the upholstery...A/C is all there......has P/S, P/B ,it also has a very rear factory 1965 Galaxie cruise-speed control unit ,but still needs to be installed i will expain the pre-production info/non production parts,if your interested in a email later on......I found a lot of these labels all over the car..this was the most complete one (pic)...i have some extra parts for the car also, its original engine 352 9inch rear with 3.0-1..small video of the car on youtube..i have about $5K in receipts for the parts i have bought/installed on the car within the last 6 months or so sorry the sound is crappy, i was using a cheap still camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A6rrvofU_c in the vid..its idle is high...choke is working, and its cold what info i know of the car re: it started life in Shelbyville IL (Ford dealer no longer in business) "Wilson Ford" emblem was on trunk lid, gone when i got the car,but you could still read it where it was,.... then it went to Eldorado TX, then Tucson AZ where is was for about 15-20 yrs untill i bought it early last year Im selling the car as im about to have back surgery and dont see me being able to work on the car for some time in the future, so i would rather sell it than have it sitting around, i can always buy another car when i get well/better, i have set the reserve at a fair price well under what the car owes me, or you can use the BIN that is only a little over what the car cost/owes me, i just want to recoup what i have into it, not make a profit On May-04-10 at 20:09:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Im trying to add some pictures of the trim and frame mounts but cant seem to add them, if anyone would like to see them drop me a email and i will forward them to youOn May-04-10 at 20:19:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have some photo's of what the car looked like when i found it...so you can see what shape the body was in...its not too bad, Isure have seen/ owned worse than this car!!...the worst on this car was the interior, it was sooooo sun rotted away from the AZ heat, thats why i had to replace verything thanks,JohnOn May-04-10 at 21:46:11 PDT, seller added the following information: it seems with my bad eyes, i got the data plate codes mixed up, they should read . "Axle=1 Trans=4" not the other way round, sorry! On May-04-10 at 23:32:06 PDT, seller added the following information: If someone wants to buy the car but doesnt want the wheels and tires i will knock $800 off the price, and replace them with some 14in ford wheels, i dont have the original hubcaps though
