1947 Ford Convertible- Blades Rod Shop purchased this car as a project in 2005 and this is the previous seller’s description: This car has a chopped windshield (3”) and a 50’s Y-block Ford V8, open drive flathead Ford 3 speed trans hooked to the stock column shift, and early 9” Ford rearend. It has a new driveshaft, brake lines, and wheel cylinders on 56 Ford F100 brakes front and rear. Dual exhaust with smithy glass packs, delco one wire alternator. Tires are in very good condition and road worthy. Not dry rotted. 48 Merc 15” wheels with nice 48 Ford hubcaps. Motor runs OK, has good oil pressure, doesn’t overheat. Mileage of motor is unknown. The bumpers are filled and need replated, door handles were removed and have bearclaw latches. New trunk floor, front floors were repaired, some rust under rear seat area but it’s small and easily repairable, also some minor rust on cowl. Fenders have some small rust areas. The front clip has the old paint on it and the rest of the body is in flat black primer, the hood has a dent in the front of it and the fenders have a few but nothing major. I do not have the bows or any glass. The doors are filled on top. It has a cool custom dashboard. The front seat is from a sedan and I believe the rear is also. I was going to make a carson style top with no quarter windows like a 41. Car runs, drives, and stops. Clear title. The carb has been rebuilt since we’ve acquired the car. Blades Rod Shop has a pair of good convertible doors available at an additional cost and are not included in this auction. Please refer to the pictures to see what is included in this auction. This is a really good start to a great summer of cruising in the sunshine. This car is sure to put a smile on your face as soon as you hit the streets with it. Heck, I smile just looking at it sitting in the shop. Your cares will blow away as the wind whips through your hair and the sun warms your face.
