Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1973 Dodge Challenger Project car. Originally she had a 318 but, now..... she has a great running 440, and a 727 automatic transmission. The car is very solid, and only has some very minor rust. The car runs and drives and is ready to be finished. The floor pans are rock solid front and back. The trunk is solid, and the car has all the original sheet metal, except the RT hood has been added. If you pay close attention you will see that the car has the 1970 Challenger tail lights, and in the parts that are included is a 1970 grill. The original 1973 grill is included also though. You will be hard pressed to find a car this solid, that runs and drives, and the best part is a NO RESERVE auction, so the high bidder gets the car. Please read on as I will cover the car front to back! ENGINE/ TRANSMISSION: The engine is a great running 440, that is bored .030 over with about 500 miles on the engine. The thermo quad carb works fine, with a electric stove box choke that is hooked up. The engine starts right up, no knocking,. no smoking, and she doesn't leak any fluids at all. The car has power steering but, the pump has a slight leak, she also has power front disc brakes, and was originally a A/C car. I did seal up the firewall for that clean look, but the A/C can be re-installed with very little effort. the car does need a new fuel tank and sending unit, as they were old and needed to be replaced. She is a turn key car that is ready to be taken to the next level. The transmission is a smooth shifting 727 automatic transmission that does not leak any fluids and works perfect! the transmission was rebuilt about a year ago or so, and has very low miles also. The rear end has 3:23 gears, with a limited slip rear end. EXTERIOR/ INTERIOR: The exterior has been primered to keep the metal fresh, as the car was taken down to bare metal, as it still wore the original paint when I bought the car. She has never had a repaint! The exterior was in great shape overall. The only bondo on the car was used to cover some of the trim holes. There was NO BONDO on the car at all!! The front drivers fender is in good shape, but the front passenger fender has front headlight area damage. The doors are in great shape, the roof and trunk are in great shape also! The right rear quarter has some minor rust along the wheel well, and the drivers quarter has some minor rust in the lower corner but, I have included a NEW lower patch panel. There is no other rust on the car, except for surface rust under the car! The floor pans are all original and in great shape. The overall sheet metal on the car is very good! The car has a new front valance, and a new rear valance with the exhaust cutouts! I had planned a complete repaint back to the original color! The interior was removed, as I was changing to black interior from the white. The seats are worn, but the seat foam seams to be fine. I have a new carpet kit to send with the car. The door panels front and rear are gone as they were white. The console is in decent condition, the dash bezel and dash plastic are in ok shape at best. The gauges do all work though, which is nice. The wipers work, the lights work, and the horns work fine too. The speedo needs a new cable though, but it does work. Car needs a dash pad, but the kick panels are in good shape. I have all the windows, and they are in good shape, and the rear window is in good shape also. The car needs a new windshield though, as the old one was cracked. The window regulators are still in the doors and work fine. I have the exterior door handles in the parts pile also, and they are in good shape. I have all the window moldings, and chrome trim too for the car. PARTS IN PICS: Here are the parts in the picture: 1970 and 1973 Grill, Heater Box, chrome trim, and window moldings, door panel inserts, window cranks, door handles, air ducts, vents, weather stripping caps, headlights, trim pieces, headliner bows, bumper brackets, trim screws, headlight rings, visors, interior trim, and etc. INFO: The car is a project, I just want to be clear. She runs great, and the drive train is rock solid. She needs to be finished. I have most of the parts to finish the car but, there may be odds and ends that are missing. Mostly things I wanted to replace. The VIN #'s stamped on the Radiator Support and Cowl area do match the VIN for the car also. Please email me ANY questions, and take a good look at the pictures. Thanks INFO: The car is a very, very nice PROJECT type car. The car is NOT perfect, but it’s 37 years old also. Please know this before bidding. I take pride in delivering this car as it was advertised. I tried to cover the car the best I could so, if you have any questions please email me, and I will answer them ASAP. There's no warranty on the car, and it's sold "AS IS". The car may be inspected anytime BEFORE the auction closes! I may end the auction at anytime. The wining bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements. There is a $1000 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of the auctions end. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of the auction closing. ONLY THE DEPOSIT MAY BE PAID WITH PAYPAL, THE REMAINING BALANCE MUST BE CASH, OR A CASHIER'S CHECK. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thank You and good Luck!!
