1981 Honda CR

You are bidding on a 1981 Honda CR80R Elsinore in execlent/new condition. This motorcycle was sold to me in 90% original condition, it was in a garage for past 12 years. This CR80R was completely disassembled by me, (a technician with 26 years of auto and motorcycle experience) and every part was cleaned and inspected. Missing/incorrect parts were replaced with NOS(new old stock, Honda) as possible. I started with the frame, I stripped it to bare metal. Then I used an professional quality automotive etching primer and had the original Honda paint formula (Tahitian Red R-23) mixed by my local automotive paint store and put down 3 coats of base color and 3 coats of High performance clear. This frame looks new! The engine was torn down and the case was stripped bare, repainted with the correct color, Honda Tahitian Red R-23. All seals have been replaced, all gaskets are new and all parts have been cleaned and inspected and are within Honda’s specifications. The carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt with new seals, jets and float needle. New fuel lines have been installed. The fuel tank was stripped and painted with Tahitian Red same as the frame and finished with new reproduction stickers. All hardware was cleaned/polished. Spokes and rims were cleaned polished. Factory correct clamps and straps were used to ensure originality. I have spent the last two months, evenings and weekends to restore this bike. My original intentions were to fix it up and give it to my son, I drove this for about 10 minutes, I think it is too powerful for his first bike. So I am looking for an XR80 for him and this would make a great part of someone’s collection.
