Vehicle Detail
Classic 1967 Buick Skylark Coupe History: This is a mostly original 36,000 mile Buick Skylark Coupe that was originally purchased in Ohio, sold to a collector in Florida, from which I bought the car in February of 2008. Since that time I have greatly enhanced the condition of the car with many upgrades that are documented below. Exterior: The actual color of the car is Aquamarine which is a blue-green combination that was a popular GM color during the 60s'. It is very attractive in the sunlight and contrasts well with the black vinyl interior. I had the front section of the car repainted (hood and fenders) as the clear coat was peeling and bothered me.The body of the car is solid and straight with no dings or scratches and shines nicely. Additionally, I had the front and rear bumpers re-chromed as well as the strip that runs down the hood, and the tail light bezels. The wheels are the original Buick chrome wheels of the period that have some minor pitting, but are still adequate. The rear skirts on the car are original and show nicely. Additionally, I replaced the exterior door handles, front parking and rear backup lenses with new OEM parts. Interior: The interior of the car is in excellent condition and shows nicely with the black vinyl seats and console. I had the bucket seats reconditioned that included repairs to the seat springs and new period correct vinyl seat covers that match the rear. All gauges and lights in the dash and console work properly, as does the original AM/FM radio that includes a rear speaker. The car also has an aftermarket Grant steering wheel with the Buick horn button, as well as the factory installed tilt steering wheel option. Also included are a set of quality floor mats the highlight the Buick logo. The car has factory air conditioning that was converted to the R134 coolant, is functional, but may need recharged. Engine and Mechanical: The car is powered by the original Buick 300CI eight cylinder engine mated with a 2bbl carburetor and two speed automatic transmission. The car is rated at 210hp and also has duel exhaust. I've had considerable work done on the car to insure reliability and peace of mind. Those things include, rewired the entire engine compartment including the air conditioning harness, replaced the carburetor, starter, battery, voltage regulator, speedometer cable, turn signal switch assembly, fuel pump, gas tank and sending unit, spark plug wires and plugs. The transmission was also serviced with a new pan gasket, fluid and filter so the car shifts smoothly without incident. I also added a power booster to help the car brake with ease. The tires are not new , but are in good condition. Undercarriage: The frame of the car is solid with only surface rust that is expected with cars this age. The floor pans and trunk are also in good condition, with the trunk refinished with POR-15 rust inhibitor, primer and GM trunk spatter. Summary: This is a low mileage, mostly original Skylark that has been reconditioned to look and drive like it did when new. I have documentation to support the improvements listed above and you won't be disappointed with this classic Buick. If you have any questions, please call or Email me. My phone number is 412-655-1178, ask for Gary. The car will be sold as is with the buyer responsible for pick-up or shipping. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due immediately following the end of the auction, with the balance due within seven days of the auction close payable by Certified Check. Good Luck!!
