Vehicle Detail

I have always been a BSA guy, I grew up with them and have owned many. Two years ago I bought this Triumph just to own one and in that time but on about 400 miles. Because of my age I've decided to thin out the number of bikes I have back to my core collection and have sold a number recently with this being the last. Bid with confidence, I have sold a number of bikes here and everyone is very happy with what they got. I had one flake who couldn't pay for a camera he bought and gave me negative feedback when I wouldn't return his deposit. I'll start by describing the e-bay ad when I bought this bike: "Lovely 1967 Triumph TR-6. This bike is an older restoration performed by "Big D Triumph" in Texas. Has only 982 miles since completion. Has desirable upgrades including 1970 front brake and carberator, high output alternator and solid state Tympanium to power a Boyer electronic ignition. This Triumph now starts, runs, and stops with total confidence and reliability for modern road conditions. She is a piece of history since Jack Wilson, owner of "Big D" passed away. This Triumph is very rare because it is exactly how it left his shop. Wilson is in the history book as building the Bonneville record bike. In typical fashion he could not resist "breathing" on this bike as it has a peppy cam, (Megacycle street profile), and meticulous blueprinting of the motor and gearbox. No oil leaks and buttery smooth gear changes. Matching numbers on frame and motor. " OK, I'll pick it up from there. First, it does drip a few drops of oil. When this bike came off the transporter, I lightly pushed down on the kick starter to bring the piston up and it fired right off, scared me to death it was so easy, still the same. It ran great with the carb it came with but I had put Makuni type on some of my BSA's so I added one here. Pull up the choke and always starts first kick. Amal comes with sale. Paint is near perfect with the following exceptions. Chip next to the where the ignition key goes, quarter inch touch up dab on top of tank to right of neck, last photo, three or four very small chips on rear of front fender, see photo. Paint has no cracks or crazing. Great stripping. Polished to a nice shine. What little chrome there is is near perfect, headlight, bars, controls, exhaust, pipes must have been ciramic coated as there is no bluing. Seat is perfect with only light fading of Triumph name. There is a scratch on the engine case by the left side foot peg. Both rims are Dunlop, rear is excellent. Front is weak cosmetically, light surface rust on cooling fins around brake hub, some plating worn off rim, some dings in rim. Exposed chrome below gaters is just OK. Both tires have plenty of tread but appear to be old. Not old enough to stop me from riding it. All black paint on frame is beautiful amd polishes up like new. Frame has all proper decals as it came from factory. Guages look as new and work perfectly Basically this is a very nice bike that rides and looks great. If you want to show it, replace the carb (20 minute job) and replace the front rim. Took it out for a test today before I listed it and the weather was so nice I put about 30 miles on it. Condition is a matter of individual interpretation. You are encouraged to inspect this bike during the auction period before you bid. You will not be allowed to inspect it after the auction to "see if you like it".
