Vehicle Detail
2002 Ranger Edge This is a long item description, but please read it and hopefully I will answer most of your questions.I have for sale as is a 2002 Ranger Edge 4x4 4.0L with front end damage. It is repairable or with many nice parts for your project. I have this only because I bought it back from the insurance company and was trading it for an engine, transmission, and cash for my daily car I have. The scrap yard is basically using my driveway as storage until they need it, and the town isn’t going to let me keep it that long, and I have decided to take the car repair in another direction. So I am only looking to cover my buy back, and you can get a great base vehicle at salvage yard cost (who were planning on making money after paying the insurance company).I will describe the truck the best that I can, but I would suggest that you come and look it over. Current salvage title: I rebuilt this truck 5 years ago with less than 50,000 miles on it. My brother’s girlfriend rolled it into a ditch, and he moved out of state before he could rebuild it. We have a friend in the body repair business, and he confirmed no frame damage and it was all within specs. I bought the truck and rebuilt it myself for my son. I have paperwork for all the parts and the donation vehicle that I took to DMV inspection and pictures of the rebuild process. The good news is that you shouldn’t have to take it through DMV inspection. I have the current salvage title that I will sign over to you. You should be able to fix this and put it immediately on the road with no hassles. This does drive to make trailer or dolly loading easy. Bellow is my best look over the vehicle, with what I think is needed and a quick look up on the internet for prices. Tires – less than 100 miles, purchased $500 newEngine/Transmission/Axles - ok Aluminum wheels – ok Hood – ok Fender, left – repair ($100 new) Fender, right – change ($100 new) Radiator support – repair ($100 new) Radiator – ok Condenser – ok Oil cooler – ok Front bumper – change ($100 new) Front bumper cover – change ($100 new) Headlight, left – ok Headlight, right – change ($125 new) Frame rail, left – repair damage in front of suspension Frame rail, right – repair damage in front of suspension Airbag, driver – change ($100 used) Airbag, passenger – change ($100 used) Grill – change ($140 new) Windshield – change ($150 new) I would fix this myself, but I have just purchased a later model truck that I am working on. Parts are easy to buy new and used between the thousands of Rangers and Explorers that have remained virtually unchanged over the years. Patience with smart buying on eBay and car-parts.com/salvage yard will go a long way of keeping costs down. I would like to see this go to someone who will put it back together. I also have a $750 hard fold able tonneau cover and $150 hitch that I will include in the sale. I have 100% feedback and this is not my first time buying or selling a car on ebay. I am not a dealer or a professional mechanic. I just don’t like car payments and have taught myself with friends’ and family help to get nice repairable vehicles at a low cost and I pass that along when I sell. I think I have represented this as fairly as I can. Please send me an email if you have any more questions and feel free to come over to look at it. I will deliver this between Buffalo and Syracuse for $50 to cover some gas and a pit stop.
