Vehicle Detail
Chatman and I were out chasing exotic project cars, specifically MGs and Jags from the late ‘50s. We were winding around in the hills at dusk checking our old haunts. We rounded a corner on old Wildcat and saw a beautiful TR6. This isn’t that car, but at that moment in time a flash went off and I recalled a forgotten relic in the vicinity. I busted a U, and busted my butt over to the forgotten classic, dilapidating in front of an expensive manor. I showed Chatman my spot and bounded out to knock on the door. I was met by a jovial man who stated in no uncertain terms my timing was impeccable. They were picking up stakes, loading up the wagons and headed to higher ground. I would have no problem making this purchase and he thanked me for my enthusiastic nature. What we have for you is an early TR6 in restorable condition. I installed a new set of points and condensers, and the antiquated machine grumbled to life. The dual Strombergs will need attention but she runs and doesn’t smoke. The car sat for 9 years and we have cleaned out the gas tank, replaced an inner tube, rubbed off the flaking clear coat, and brought her back! This baby is going to need your fastidious attention to detail but will be a show stopper at the end of the restoration road. I haven’t seen many with wire wheels and that is a high point here. I also read these early TR6s have high compression engines and cool fold down headrests. I do love these cars but I don’t have the patience to fiddle with them. I would rather claim them as my own and find a new home for these beautiful sports cars. I have done my best to catalog the condition of the automobile in the photos and hope they suffice. I have the title in my name and I offer shipping internationally. We hope you enjoy the pictures and encourage your questions and inspections. Please feel free to contact me and welcome to my world of project cars. Update: Today I paid the back fees on the Triumph and received current registration stickers. It can now be parked legally on the street. Thanks.
