Vehicle Detail

OK, where to start! Bought this one for my daughter, she really wanted an old American car so we bought this one. She absolutly adored it until she realized it was more work than she wanted to do. So picked her up a vw ghia (yeah daddy can work on it) so selling this one off to fund the ghia. I know nothing about these things. I have only driven vw's for 20+ years. Its a really cool looking car just not what I am used to. if we had the space to store it would keep it for myself and do something with it down the road, but alas, we have 6 volkswagens here and this thing is huge! so pulled it under the carport and her ghia into the garage.I can put 2 of hers in the space this one takes up!! Anyway, have started it and drive it between the garage and carport. Never had it on the road, brakes worked until it was towed here, think the driver wrapped his chain around some brake lines and damaged them. But they probably need to be completly re-done anyway. When we first got it, checked the wiring, looks like maybe it was being converted to 12v, has a new alt but a lot of wires hanging around that need to go somewhere. Checked the ignition system and it had power where it needed to be, so started it up and it runs, and have driven it maybe 3/10ths of a mile between the carport and garage, kinda scary with no brakes!! But does run and the clutch worked along with at least 1st and reverse. When it was running tried to check the lights but it popped and shut off when i cut them on so a short somewhere in that system. but will start and run just not tried anymore. needs a lot of work, floor pans have metal sheets over them and see a lot of rust. needs a drivers door glass, pass rear needs to be replaced, pass rear door shuts but was tied shut when we got it. After playing with it got it to latch, but needs to be adjusted. have a box of parts for it, along with a lot of engine parts including rings, brake kits, misc gm/chevy stuff that goes with. I think you could tune it up, go thru the brakes and at least have a driver. But I know vw's not chevys, so can answer questions if your specific and tell me where to look!!! Not even sure where to find the vin on this thing, did find a plate under the hood that reads as follows.... Style 53-1069W body# ag21991 trim 243 paint 512 top 400 Looks like it might have been green at one time. has 3 rally rims and one is a stock rim/no spare. Have the fender skirt thats missing in the pics, took it off originally to maybe look for a matching rim for it, and has the correct air cleanner just took it off to get it started, the vw won so this one has to go. So sold as is, no titles here in Ga, and never registered it but will come with a notorized bill of sale. Sold as is/no warranty and is listed locally so if sold before auctions end will pull the ad. Will also trade for a vw, prefer a bay bus or vanagon but have a few of those so prefer to sell. Ok thats about all I know on it, questions feel free to ask, but give me some info to look for an answer on it. So far I know it starts, can drive 300', its red, and its huge! Thanks and good luck....
