Vehicle Detail
ORIGINAL 1980 FORD F-150 RUST FREE ARIZONA TRUCK Thank you for your interest in this original 1980 Ford F-150. This truck has less than 88,000 original miles, is completely rust free, unmolested and has not been driven since 1996. This truck belonged to a gentleman in Tollison, Arizona who bought it new from a local dealer. In 1996 he bought a new Chevrolet Truck but because this truck had been so trouble free he wanted to keep it for his grandson. It turned out the grandson was more of a VW kind of kid so the truck just sat gathering dust in the shed. Throughout the years the owner would start it frequently and continued to register and pass emissions with the state. The truck had a camper shell on it and a layer of dust but one could tell it was in prime condition. Since I purchased the truck I have replaced a few things because I want to keep it as an example of a stock truck that has not been messed with. I get lots of comments and thumbs up because it is in such good shape. I put in a new windshield, added power steering, replaced all the fluids, flushed radiator and gas tank, upgraded the grill to chrome, new taillights, new dash, new seat and new carpeting. It has the original jack and handle under the hood. The only cosmetic things needed are the door panels which both have wear holes I imagine were brought upon by the heat from the Arizona sun. I understand the panels are available but I am not really bothered by their condition so have not replaced them. Check out the photo’s and you will see what I mean. The bed and tailgate are not dented and the tailgate works perfectly. It has the trouble free six cylinder motor and three speed transmission. The rear end ratio is 3 to one. I have towed my woodie station wagon on a trailer with this truck and it had all the torque needed to do the job. There is a piece of flex plastic between the air horn and the fresh air intake that I am replacing when I find the part. This truck is uncomplicated under the hood and is easy to maintain and work on. There are no computers, or modules to deal with just a basic truck that is inexpensive to own. There is no rust on the truck and the body has the original paint color, Wimbledon White. The sides of the truck have paint chips from driving on dirt roads here in the desert but they did not result in dents. I am slowly getting out of trouble with my wife by selling off my fleet. I had just sold another mint 1969 Ford truck on EBay (see recent feedback). She was relieved when I sold that one but now she wants the 1980 out of the garage. I just turned 69 in January and have nine vehicles which 3 are normal drivers and the others vintage. The truck takes a lot of room in the garage and I am getting flack because my daughter has to park outside. If you are looking for a unmolested, rust free, garage queen, that is turn key and dependable then this is the truck for you. Please study the pictures and be sure to call or write me for any information. Bid in confidence, check my feedback, and this is the truck you have been looking for. No disappointments.
