Vehicle Detail

1977 Nova Project. Needs some work, but these bodies are getting harder to find. This one is a 305/TH350 car. The rear end is a 10 bolt 3.73 Positraction (not the original). This car has sat in a barn since the late 80s, then on the side of another barn for a few years too. I'd like to fix it, but as people like to say, I have "too many projects". This is a good solid body but I'll list the problems I see below. I have the car in a barn right now with jack and jackstands if anyone wants to come and inspect. I also have many detailed pics I can send if you want. The front floorboards will need replaced, due to a leaky windshield seal. The floorboards you will need are the ones that are all the way to the firewall (Tamraz has them on ebay for the older Nova which is nearly the same, if not the exact same), It has a hole in the drivers side fender just behind the wheel (another common Nova issue and those panels are also available. Do yourself a favor and fix the original fender. The replacement ones are horrible.) There is surface rust under the car as you'll see in the pics. There are some body pops and dings, the paint is chaulky, the underside of the hood and engine compartment are surface rusty. The inner door jamb is also in need of some metal. Engine is a 305 with the really small chamber (and valve) heads. It still rolls over. It has a carb on it and a nearly new one in the trunk. Both 2bbl Rochester. Trans is a 350 Turbo automatic. I have no radiator for the car. Other misc parts in the trunk include exhaust manifolds and a Y pipe. I have an ignition key, but no door keys or trunk key. Clear Ohio Title! Any questions? Need Pics? Please hit the ask seller a question button if so. Thanks! On Apr-20-10 at 06:07:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Answers to some questions: The engine turns over by hand. There is alot to be done before trying to fire it up. I never pursued this any further because my plan was to use a different engine. The engine is not the original 305. It and the trans is from a 79 Caprice Wagon. I know the trans worked and shifted well back then, but it has been sitting for 20yrs. The rearend was shown with the cover off to display the posi unit and gears in the picture. I do have the cover and the rear end was full of oil when I removed the cover. I would check the brakes on it, but other than that, add fresh posi lube and gear oil and run it. I think it's originally from a 78-9? Trans Am. It is a factory GM posi and gear. The car comes with all 5 original rally wheels. 4 Center Caps and 4 Rings. One of the Rings will need some clips or replacing. The others appear to be fine. The tires hold air and have tread, but will need replaced due to dry rot. The floor boards are currently out of the car. I left plenty of lip to trim up when installing the new ones. A good sheetmetal guy could probably fabricate his own if you arent worried about originality. The windshield seal will need replaced (the reason for the floor trouble). ALL the glass is good! While there are many things I pointed out with this car, it's still what I would consider here in Ohio to be a good rebuilder. A great project for a first hot rod, etc. I'm just trying to point out as many problems as I can to make sure you guys get what you bid on with no surprises. Thanks!
