Vehicle Detail
UP for auction is a Very Rare 1968 XR7-G Cougar. This is a true NO RESERVE Auction with a starting bid of only $0.99. There were only 619 total XR7-G Cougars ever produced, all of them were built in 1968. This one has a MATCHING Numbers "J-code" 302-4V engine making it even rarer, just 1 of only 140 ever produced. Take the time to do a google search on the 1968 Cougar XR7-G and you will find countless links to detailed information regarding these rare cars. This car is fully documented and listed in the XR7-G registry. It is the REAL deal. It comes with a faxed copy of the Marti Report (see photo). Most All Original Serial and other Numbers are in place including the Door Tag, VIN Dash Plate, LF Fender Apron Stamping, Buck Tag, Engine Block Stamping with the partial VIN, and Rear End Tag. Please note the Transmission is the correct C-4 unit for the car however it is NOT the one that the car originally came with. This car does not have a title and will sold on a Bill of Sale. This car does not run and is in need of complete and total restoration. There is rust everywhere, please refer to the photos. However I do have another extremely solid west coast southern CA body shell that could be used for parts to restore this car that I will sell for $1500 at first refusal to the winning bidder of this auction. If the winner of the auction does not want to purchase the body shell, I will be placing it on ebay in another auction shortly after this auction has concluded. What you see is what you get with this car, nothing more or less. Most of the original XR7-G parts are long gone however the majority of them are currently reproduced and available by various vendors. Good sources for the missing parts are West Coast Classic Cougars in Oregon or John's Classic Cougars in Michigan. Again do a google search and their websites will come up. One little bonus the complete Tilt-Away Steering Column with the XR7-G steering wheel emblem is still in place. This vehicle is For Sale locally and the auction may be ended at anytime without notice. I currently do not have a Buy it Now price in mind but I am open to offers. Please note this car must be picked up no later than May 15, 2010 from my location. This car is located in Westbrook, CT 06498 and can be inspected most days prior to the end of the auction. I may considering delivering the car the the winning bidder for a fee of $2.50 per loaded mile up to a distance of 200 miles however the entire purchase price must be paid and funds cleared before I leave my location to deliver the car. I will do my best to work with your shipping company to ease the transportation process.
