Vehicle Detail
I am looking to sell and purchase a 100 series Land Cruiser. I’m listing here because this is probably the best place to get the most traffic. Now about the FZJ 80, I purchased the vehicle with the intent to build it into and expedition offroad vehicle. Not realizing upon taking my recent job limited time off would not afford me the copious amounts of free time necessary to dedicate myself to completing her. Sadly she is being utilized as my basic transportation to/from said job during the winter months when I can’t stand the cold to ride my motorcycle. I, being a fanatic about Land Cruisers cannot diligently allow myself to keep her from her true calling of the wild, and would prefer to relegate the daily humdrum activities to a model more suited to commuting purposes (sorry 100 series fans, but really lets be honest.) I will try to present the Cruiser for what she is, as I believe that anyone looking and this Cruiser knows what may be in store. Here we go: · 211K + miles on the odometer, see picture. · I’ve take pictures of the dash prior to starting and while running to show that there are no error codes, however (there’s always a however) if not allowed to warm up properly she will throw a P0401 code that resets once you stop abusing her and treat her like any other warm blooded woman. · Small oil leak coming from the front of the engine. Not enough to make it to the floor of the garage, but enough to show on the underside of the motor. My oil changes are every 3K miles with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic, and a Genuine Toyota filter. · Full factory front and rear lockers, that are actuated monthly, sadly once again not during an off road excursion, but in a dirt lot by the house (sigh.) · ARB front winch bumper, with 10K Warn winch (not even connected, as I’ve never needed it to winch out of the parking lot) · Rock Sliders (now this is sad) I can’t even remember who I purchased these from. I followed Mud regularly, and these were the sliders to have, but a quick Google search didn’t ring any bells, so they may have gone out of business or changed names. I’m sure someone out there knows the manufacturer, but I can’t recall. Anyway, these have never been actually utilized to protect the rockers, as I can clear most parking bumpers easily, and without a spotter! · The passenger rear half of the rear fender flare doesn’t seem to match color wise (lighter) and there is a Borla resonator installed in lieu of the factory resonator which leads me to believe that there may have been previous damage. I’ve crawled underneath and looked all over and cannot see any obvious body repair. You’re welcomed and encouraged to Carfax the VIN if this is of any concern to you, or drop by to look at her in person. · Couple of small bb sized dings here and there and a crack in the windshield, but hard to show in pictures. · Leather is in great condition as seen in the pictures with the only notation on the drivers side where there is a patch covering a small hole that had worn through. · Left Birfield needs to be rebuilt (see picture,) I was planning a full rebuild while re-gearing for 4.88’s with Longfields but it seems like overkill for my needs. · E-brake doesn’t work, and hasn’t since I’ve owned her. It was on the list during the re-gearing operation but I just haven’t gotten there. · I have 2” wheel spacers installed to run the FJ Cruiser rims on the 80, tires only have about 5K miles on them. · Factory alarm RS-3000, not functioning. I think there is a relay or door switch that is not made or is???? The alarm will work sporadically as it sees fit. · All other options work, ie, door locks, windows, sunroof, power mirrors and seats, rear heater……….etc. I even replaced the “D” light. · Have the original sticker, this was a 53K dollar vehicle back in 1997, and has probably every option offered. · Extra parts: o Brand new PHH. Bought to carry incase original blew, but never had to install (Yeah!) o Original 80 series rims (4ea) w/bald MT tires. o 16x10 black simulated bead-lock rims (4 ea) o 16.5x8 US 6x6x6 converted Hummer true bead-lock rims black powder coated wheel with Antique Sage powder coated lock rings. (4 ea) o 16.5x8 black steel wheel to be used as spare. (1 ea) o 37x12.5x16.5 Hummer OZ tires 98% tread (5 ea) o Confer roof rack. o Stock bumper, and new factory floor mats. Don’t really know what else to say about her, but there is probably plenty that I’m forgetting. I may have not painted her in the best light, but I’m not trying to hide anything, most people who don’t know LC’s don’t believe that she’s 13 years old with 200+K miles on the odo. Drop me a line and I’ll respond as I can with pictures and information, but as mentioned previously I am quite busy at work so I’m not monitoring my personal account hourly. Don’t waste my time with cash offers, Nigerian check scams, etc. I don’t have time to drive to NY (or anywhere further than Santa Fe) to perform the exchange, so you’ll have to meet me here, but it beautiful here this time of year, and you could hit Slee and then Moab if you’re out and about in a Cruiser!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ha, I knew sombody would come through. The sliders are made by MetalTech. Thanks! Oh, and after the listing posted I got the see the vehicle report the next owner will be lucky #7!!! I also have a new trailer wiring harness to install, as a few week ago I pulled a boat and the turn and brake signals didn't work. After reasearching it common to have the factory Toyota module fail so I just purchased a Drawtite plug in until.
