1929 Mercedes-Benz Gazelle Replica Built on a Classic Custom Frame with a1980 Mercury Bobcat V6 (2.8L I believe) Unlike most of the other replicars built on VW framesor using tinker toy 4 cylinder engines, this baby will get up and scoot down the road with the best of them! My son and I built this up in the eighties. Frankly we had so much fun driving it that we never got around to finishingthe convertible top etc. However, what was finished was built solid and mechanically perfect. After he left home and old age got me, the car was stored in my machine shop and has set here for roughly twenty years withonly an occasional spin around the block for nostalgic sake. (See Photos) The fiberglass gel coat will need to be buffed out, the chrome polished, the convertible top and side curtains mounted, along with a fair amount of upholstery repaired or replaced. The tires are over twenty years old and should be replaced. The engine may need to be flushed and the ignition updated. Some local kids broke in and stole the steering wheel. I have purchased a new better one but the BC will need to be modified slightly. They also stole the Gazelle ornament which was cheap plastic at any rate and needed to be replaced. A good solid base car which you can make drive-able for only a smallamount time and cash. and then go to work customizing. We have a forklift and loading facilities for your truck or trailer. I have the Iowa MV Department looking for a title, but it's been twenty years. For now, it's a good bet that the title will not be available and only a bill of sale will be given.
