Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevy El Camino SS Tribute Project. If you do paint and body work, this is the perfect project for you. This car has a clear title and runs and drives, but has not been inspected for the street. It is mechanically sound, has a strong performance exhaust rumble, and is very quick. This is a West Texas car, so rust is minimal- there are a few small rust spots in the bed and cab (rear floor). The doors are obviously from another ElCamino, but are in solid shape with minor dings. When I bought this car, the front end and interior had been stripped. I installed a 1969 manual steering box, new power disc front and rear brakes, 2" drop spindles, a new sway bar, and a new aluminum radiator. The engine is a built 355 small block with an RV hydraulic cam, cast iron Chevy bowtie intake, Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb, new HEI distributor, and ceramic coated headers. The transmission is a performance built Turbo 350 with a mild (2500-3000 rpm) stall converter. The driveshaft has new u-joints installed and was balanced. The Chevy 12 bolt rear end is from a 1970 El Camino and has been professionally rebuilt/set up. A new bearing and seal kit, Eaton posi- trac unit, street/strip 4.10 gears, and new Moser 30 SPL C-Clip performance axles were installed.I repainted the dash black, cleaned up all the gauges, and installed some aftermarket gauges and Tachometer. This was a factory air car, but the lines, condensor, and compressor were all missing when I bought it. I will also include all the original chrome and trim from the car- some will need replaced. It rolls on original-style Chevrolet 15"x7" steel wheels with beauty rings, center caps, and Cooper tires. This is a project I need to sell. My "buy it now" price is less than I have invested in parts. This will make someone a fun, fast, and solid muscle car. Here are the new and rebuilt parts I have installed: Front Windshield with new trim clipsQuarter window regulators, interior door cranks, handles, and locksNew black dash pad, steering wheel, and SS dash emblemNew Grille, grille moldings, grille extensions, eyebrows, and SS396 grille emblem1969 Right front fender1969 Left front fender1969 SS Hood, chrome hood louvres, and hood hinge/spring kitAluminum RadiatorAC Delco Starter Summit max cool water pumpHolley 12-327-11 Fuel PumpFan and clutch kit assemblyAmbush Performance aluminum alternator mounting bracket kitHedman 68298 Elite Ceramic Coated HeadersBattery, cables, wires, hoses, etc.Fuel and Transmission cooler linesUMI Solid 1.25" Front Sway BarUMI Rear trailing arm kit, Rear End Housing Bushes, and sway bar2" Drop Spindle KitSSBC front slotted/drilled disk brake kit and boosterSSBC rear disk brake kitStainless Steel parking brake cableFront bumper with bumper bolt kitRear bumper with bumper bolt kitCooper Cobra Radial GT 275/60R15 rear tiresCooper Cobra Radial GT 235/60R15 front tiresProfessionally installed 2.5" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers What doesn't work/ needs replaced: Needs right rear taillight wiring repairWindshield wiper motor needs repaired and new wiper blades Vehicle is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
