Vehicle Detail
Please note before going farther: car must be either picked up in Pittsburgh, PA, or else shipping must be totally arranged by the buyer. I can also arrange to pick the buyer up at Pittsburgh International Airport, as i only live 15 miles away.. FIRST: all issues with the car are listed here: please review this, because the car is sold AS IS. None of these issues affect drivability of the car...it runs and drives PERFECTLY.cruise control does not work and has not work since i purchased the car....no idea why.heat and AC work perfectly, but blower stays on after car is turned off.....no idea why....mechanic says possibly something in the ignition. simply solved by opening the hood and easily unplugging the blower after car is turned off while using ac or heat.soft top has a couple of tears on the rear windows which have been repaired with gorilla tape.driver side rear-view mirror has water behind the dimming tint (common issue), which has caused the mirror to be half clear and half tinted.roll bar works perfectly, but indicator light is on due to a fault in the new rebuilt module.....no issue with the bar, as the module is new, but only has a small fault in it.very minor clear coat cracking on face of some of the rims...hardly noticeable and no peeling. no cracking on lips either.covers of vanity mirrors are broken off (see photos), will be included and can possibly be re-attached.i only have ONE master key for the car.....additional ones should be able to be ordered at Mercedes dealership.Hardtop is included with the car but my mechanic seems to think it may not be the original one, as it has trouble locking onto the car.foam heat shield underneath the hood is flaking off due to age (see photo) Now for the new / repaired / replaced items:just completed $5,000 8-month full restoration of all of the convertible top's hydraulic components, as well as new roller module, all completed by a former master Mercedes mechanic. receipts includednew authentic OEM Mercedes batterynew trunk strutstop of the line Hankook Ventus v12 Evo2 tires with less than 3,000 miles on them Hello! I am proud to offer my beautiful 1999 Mercedes SL500 w/AMG package for sale! This gorgeous car has only been driven 88,000 miles, runs splendidly, and is ready to go with clean title in hand. Finished in attention-grabbing Imperial red complemented by java nappa (light tan) leather and a black soft top, as well as red hard top. this car exudes an unrivaled luxury presence at an achievable price. Car sounds amazing with stock exhaust and is quite powerful; without traction control on the car easily breaks traction through 2nd gear. This car is equipped with both of the only 2 option packages available when the car was new...the SL1 and SL2 packages. The SL1 package consists of a sculpted front, rear and side body cladding, fog lamps, AMG staggered 18" wheels, and sport emblems. The SL2 package consists of xenon HID projector headlamps, heated seats, Bose audio system w/subwoofer and 6 disc cd changer. Car is equipped with top of the line Hankook Ventus EVO2 tires which have less than ~3,000 miles on them. Car also features a custom $180 RennTech shift knob matched to the OEM wood trim.Upon inspection, my mechanic seems to think that the car also has a RennTech ecu tune, but I am unable to verify this for sure, as it was not mentioned to me at time of purchase. The paint and body are in excellent shape for the edge of the car, there are some normal rock chips which appear to have been touched up by a previous owner, as well as some normal scratches and fading on the front bumper, which is normal for a car of this age. The black soft top looks good and functions PERFECTLY due to a $5,000 restoration of the top's hydraulic system which took nearly a year to meticulously complete. Only issue is a couple of tears in the rear window which have been covered by tape. No water leaks. The tan leather is in excellent condition aside from some normal cracking on the driver seat only. Leather is cleaned and conditioned regularly. The wood trim is shiny and scratch free, and the AC blows ice cold, and heat works well. Car has a brand new authentic Mercedes Benz battery, as well as brand new trunk struts. I will also include a new $125 Wolfgang Concours wax and detail kit with the purchase of the vehicle! I have all receipts for restoration and maintenance that has been preformed since I bought the car in 2013. Car has been 99% garage kept since then and has not seen snow or salt, always stored for Winter. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or would like anymore photos of any certain part of the car. I can be reached via call or text @ 304-731-9474; name is Ryan.
