Vehicle Detail
For sale: 2006 Honda Accord EX-L 4Cyl Auto. In good condition except for an oil leak that needs repair. Please read below for detailed description. Approx. 188,000 miles. This was originally a Florida car, so only has 2 Chicago winters -- clean and rust free. It has been delivering reliable service until this oil leak. Following is good / working on the car:AC and heat. Sound System, Radio XM RadioABS, Airbags are in good condition.Transmission, Brakes, Suspension, tires and wheels are good. No clunks, drives smooth and straight. All power equipment works except rear window defroster. Locks, windows, lights, heated seats, power seats.Engine, except for the oil leak (see below) runs strong and smooth, does not have excess oil consumption, valves recently adjusted, new plugs. There are no lights on in the dash when it is running, but when it is running, the oil is leaking out, so I did not take a picture.Never in an accident.Wipers and Washers are good. Car has the following Upgrades:Larger Battery and cable from V6 model.Front Strut tower brace from V6 6-speed model.Trunk lining from V6.Rear Sway Bar upgraded to that from Acura TL Type S. Winner may have the choice of recieving the original rear sway bar or the matching Front Sway bar from the TL Type S. Present setup is very neutral handling, but new owner may want more understeer.Radio Volume Knob upgraded to one from earlier Accord with Chrome ring. Broken / Bad:Rear Window defroster does not work. I suspect the heating lines on the window are broken.Headliner is starting to come apart (see images).Normal wear and tear to interior and exterior, scratches, dings, etc.Roof paint has been resprayed and is not too shiny. Trunk lid paint has some clear coat looking bad.Oil Leak: The boss into which the pressure switch screws is cracked and needs repair. There is a picture in the gallery. Right above and to the right of the oil filter is the boss. There is a hole in the boss and the threaded part is cracked. This needs repair with aluminum welding (should work), brazing (may work), or epoxying (almost certainly will not work). Present condition is the hole has epoxy over it and the threaded hole has a plug in it, but it leaks alot because of the cracks. There is room to work on it for welding -- both hands can get access if on a lift. Vehicle is in Buffalo Grove, Il 60089. You may inspect it, contact me. Not driving it, cause I don't want an oily mess. Tow it away. Any questions, let me know!
