1987 BMW 325i Convertible This is a 3 owner (I am the 3rd owner, so 2 previous owners before me) 1987 BMW 325i convertible in very original and unmolested condition. The first owner owned the car from March 1987 to sometime late February 1990 (purchased on 3/13/1987). Then the second owner, Mr. Schnautz purchased the car in March 1990 from Fletcher BMW in North Carolina and owned it for 27 years until he passed away in end of 2017. Mr. Schnautz paid $23,728.50 on March 7, 1990 and acquired the car from Fletcher BMW, original invoice, and receipts and the registration from 1990 are all included (please see photos). The car lived in Asheville, NC from 1990 until end of 2017, then a broker purchased the car from late Mr. Schnautz’s wife, and had it delivered to Knoxville, TN. I purchased the car from the broker in January 2018. The car had 104,600 miles when I acquired it (all documented miles). The car is in very original condition. Many pages of receipts going back to 1990 are available and the car was very well taken care of. In September 2006, A/C system was converted to modern 134A, and about $4,000 was spent for the conversion. It is documented within service records. Currently, the A/C works great and blows ice cold air. Many other major services were performed under the second owner’s ownership and all documented within the services records. Just to list a few recent ones, a major service in 2009 was performed totaling $1,400 (car was 72,884 miles back then). A brake service was performed for $760 in July 2012 (the car was 85,577 miles). Another major service was performed in June 2016 (car was 102,092 miles) including timing belt, water pump, control arms left and right, control arm bushings, valve cover gaskets, all filters and fluids, belts, distributor cap, etc.. totaling to $2,645. In 2017, a clutch service was performed and clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder and all clutch hoses were replaced. Under my ownership, I changed the engine oil, oil filter, power steering hose and performed a power steering fluid flush. Purchased 4 brand new Michelin Defender tires, replaced the fog lights and headlights, replaced front bumper rubber trim. Everything else was addressed under the previous owner’s ownership. Interior is also in excellent and original condition. All seats are rip free and very clean. The convertible top is original and in excellent condition. The paint looks to be all original and in excellent condition. The carpets and floor mats are in excellent condition with no stains or tears. That indicates the car had always been garage kept and well cared for. The dash is crack free and in excellent condition. The spare wheel looks brand new and never been used. The only thing that doesn’t work in the car is the radio. It turns on with lights but no sound, could be either the radio or the antenna. I didn’t bother to fix it since I don’t listen to the radio. The current odometer reading is 106,645. The miles are all original and documented within service records. Odometer is operational and working as it should. This is a true enthusiasts car and it is getting harder to find them in this original and complete condition. The car is currently located in Atlanta, GA and can be viewed/inspected by appointment.
