Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a rare rust-free and story-free 1995 Range Rover County Classic Short Wheel Base (SWB) with just 82,250 original miles. Finished in Beluga Black over original Light Stone Connelly leather, this is 1/500 of the elusive final Rover Classics imported to the United States. It can continue to be a solid low-mile driver or tucked away into a collection. Either way, this ultra clean and low-mile rare soft-dash should be a great candidate for continued appreciation. It has been maintained with an open checkbook here in Austin, Texas by Austin Roverworks and Royal Overland. I have sold some of my collection before (911s and Defenders) on eBay before so you can trust this is as described. I am a NAS LR enthusiast and this has been 1 of my 5 garaged vehicles over the last few years and I am selling to replace the bay with a 993. I have done <2500 miles in this one as it has mostly been driven on occasion for my short commute and occasional ranch trip. It has not been off-roaded or abused, mostly sitting on a trickle charger. It’s been a very reliable Rover for me, never leaving me stranded and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it long distances. I have a ton of detailed high res pictures here and can provide more of anything by request: https://seanrussell.smugmug.com/Other/RRC Please contact me if you are interested in ending the auction at a price - lesser trucks are selling for more on BAT; no buyers commission on top here. Vehicle history, options & condition: Built in Solihull and imported new to Galveston in 1995, this soft-dash SWB spent its entire life at a second-home in Taos, New Mexico before I brought it back to Texas in 2016. I am the third owner and it has a clean carfax documenting its extensive service history. This is a lifetime Southern truck that has never seen salt. The original owner’s manual, original unused spare tire, unobtanium matching cargo cover, factory key fob and 2 keys are included. This truck has its original 3.9L V8 engine mated to a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission that sends permanent power to all 4 wheels. It has the factory sunroof, ice-cold A/C, factory Harmon Kardon stereo system and Hella fog lights. As you can see in the detailed pictures, all the usual trouble areas are clean and rust-free. Clear Carfax and Texas title in my name in hand. No weird lights or dash errors. It has the nicest original interior I’ve ever seen on a RRC. Tight headliner, no broken plastic bits, original working stereo (with custom disguised aux plug-in for iPhone) with clean and tight original leather. I would describe the paint as mostly original high quality-driver condition - it looks very sharp and it is not your typical tired or swirly beluga. I have it clay bar'ed and detailed annually. The paint is very clean/shiny for its age and I suspect the previous owner may have done some touch-up work as there is sign of sight overspray on the right upper tailgate corner. I commissioned the roof to be professionally repainted in beluga black to address some fading when I bought it. It is a head turner that gets far more compliments than my new supercharged LWB or defender. Maintenance/upgrades that I have had done to the vehicle, all by professionals and within the last 1000 miles: - Brand new exhaust and muffler - Brand new stainless braided oil cooler lines (a must if you know these cars) - New and improved Congleton lift tabs, much stronger than the originals - Brand new stepper motor - Seat ECUs inspected and re-soldered; all windows and seat mechanics work in June 2018- New headliner in June 2018 - RTE rock sliders (for improved optics and access, not off-road use).- New BFG 245/75 KM2s tires - Terrafirma MD coils/shocks - Tuff-rok flaps - Aux cord added to stock ratio by GB4X4 Radios – great way to use ipod/iphone w/ original system - All fluids recently changed - Replaced some of the brail interior plastic bits (with all original or improved Congleton pieces) - New battery - Roof professionally resprayed in matching Beluga Known nags – these are minor things one might address that didn’t bother me: - Sunroof is stuck, but sealed tight (motor works and $245 estimate to fix channel but I prefer the A/C) - Driver side seat bottom/arm rest showing light wear (no rips and I wanted to keep original, but this is also cheap re-upholster fix if you want it perfect) -Small tear that has been repaired on the rear "pleather" "D" column that connects roof to tailgate. I have a replacement piece that I will include in sale that I never bothered to install because it looks good as-is-It leaks some oil, like my defender-Previous owner lost the records so all I have is the carfax history and receipts from what I have had done Legalese and other details:This is a low-mileage and hard-to-find collector SUV but it is 23+ years old – it is far quieter, more comfortable, and less leaky than my 1994 Defender, but it is louder and less-refined than my new Range Rover. I have tried to describe it honestly and to the best of my knowledge, but it is possible I forgot or overlooked something. Feel free to ask questions, inspect the pictures closely or commission your own PPI. The truck is sold as-is with no warranty or returns expressed or implied. I can assist in arranging shipping/loading on a truck but transportation is at buyer’s expense. $2500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours or sale and balance due within 7 days, at which point I will overnight you the title (with pics and tracking #) and release car the pickup. You can bid with confidence — I have sold other RRs, Defenders and Porches on eBay. The RRC is currently at Austin Roverworks having the exhaust replaced for its new owner. I have asked them to get me undercarriage pics so please ask if you need those. Can also call them for a PPI.
