Vehicle Detail
2003 Mystic Blue Metallic 330i with ZHP package (performance package) and 126,500 miles. The performance package (ZHP option code) was a unique option that was designed to increase the performance of the 330i sedan since the M3 was not available as a sedan in this chassis generation. BMW initially said that 500 sedans would be made available in 2003, but in later E46 model years the option was made available to coupes and convertibles as well. The ZHP package was a significant change to the standard 330i, giving it a 6-speed transmission (5-speed for normal 330s), more aggressive camshafts with a higher redline (235 HP vs 225 for the standard 330i), a revised oil pump nut, revised shock and strut valving, a shorter final drive ratio (3.07 vs. the standard 2.93), different front control arms, a different power steering rack, as well as other changes. Cosmetic changes included 18" wheels, M exterior colors (Mystic Blue Metallic in this case), M-tech front and rear bumpers, alcantara interior, alcantara steering wheel, ZHP-specific interior trim, a weighted shift knob, and a rear spoiler. This car is also equipped with xenon headlights, moonroof, cold weather package (heated seats and headlight washers), and leather seats (not alcantara). I have owned this car since 2010 when it had ~42K miles. I am an enthusiast and this car has had a lot of maintenance, with highlights described below. The paint is in good condition, with some chips on the front that have been touched up with BMW Mystic Blue Metallic touchup paint. There are some chips on the right side, a door ding on the left side, a small scuff on the left side of the rear bumper, and the beginnings of some rust on the right rear quarter panel (images below). The right rear wheel has some minor curb damage that has been touched up with BMW touchup paint. The other wheels are good, but have some minor imperfections. The interior is in good condition with no cracks in the leather, but some scuffing on the driver's seat bolster and some creasing in the driver's seat. Headliner and pillar covers are in good condition and have not required correction. Winter wheels and tires will be included (Sport Edition wheels with peeling paint, and tires are nearing the need for replacement). Oil and filter changes have been performed every ~7,500 miles since I have owned it, and transmission, differential, brake and coolant fluid changes having been performed several times as well. Clean title in hand and the car has no known accidents or paintwork, aside from the touchups mentioned above. It also occasionally displays clutch judder. The rust on the rear quarter panel just starting to show this spring. The AC system has a small leak, and refrigerant has been added at time of state inspection (July) for the last two years - but enough refrigerant stays in the system for the air to stay cold four 12 months (my mechanic - Bavarian Specialties - suggested doing this until the leak gets worse).
