The Police Tahoe is legendary for their safety, reliability, durability and low maintenance costs. The rugged Chevy Tahoe is second only to its BIG brother the Suburban in occupant safety. The Tahoe has been one of Chevrolet’s most popular vehicles for over two decades. The Tahoe has an interior so big you can get lost inside, rugged good looks and exceptional towing capacity, it’s easy to see why it is a great choice for police patrol. It’s not some sissy crossover – it’s a real SUV built on a truck chassis. The PPV Tahoe has sturdy body built atop a rigid steel frame. NOT a sheet metal uni-body "wanana-be" like the Ford Explored crossover. FYI, the Ford is not a real SUV and is built atop the Taurus drive-train which was designed as a car. ..the Tahoe is a REAL TRUCK. The brakes, tires, 5.3 liter 320 HP engine, 6 speed auto transmission and both of the 4x4 differentials are in perfect condition... Everything is tight and good to go. How do I know these things? Good Question! Well.... was a policeman for over 31 years and drove them for a living. I was the fleet manager for my Police Department, I ran the traffic bureau, re-constructed car crashes and was a motorcycle cop. Many departments keep these on regular patrol with well over 200K miles on them. I have owned several PPV and SSV Tahoes and a rare Police Suburban....over the past 12 years and my 1999 Tahoe Pursuit is still going strong. This 2009 4x4 white Tahoe SSV runs fantastic. The brakes, tires, 5.3 liter 320 HP engine, 6 speed auto transmission and both of the 4x4 differentials are in perfect condition... Everything is tight and good to go. The brand new Ford Explorer Police Utility I drove on patrol for my police department broke-down at 900 miles and was not returned for over 4 months due to recalls and fuel leaks. Ford impounded it would not even give it back until the figured out how to fix the leaks months later. FYI, the Ford "Police Utility" is not a real truck SUV ...It is built atop the Taurus sedan front wheel drive uni-body (AKA stamped and folded sheet metal) drive-train which was designed as a front wheel drive car. ..the Tahoe is a REAL TRUCK. Do you know of ANY real truck that is front wheel drive??? Almost all of the police fleet managers dump the Taurus & "Exploder" the moment the Ford warranty expires.... because they are so costly to repair and maintain. BTW...It takes 16 hours to replace a water pump on the Fords and only 1 hour to do the same job on the Tahoe. A new Tahoe headlight assembly is under $300... the Ford costs $1,000....WOW. The Ford Explorer is so small & weak due to its lack of a steel frame that Ford considers the spare tire a "Integral structural component in a crash" and prohibits & warns Police Departments against driving without a spare tire it...WHY??? About this Tahoe: This is a original Unmarked all white factory painted white 2009 4x4 Chevrolet Police Tahoe SSV (Special Service Vehicle). The tires are atop silver steel wheels. I also have the same wheels in chrome, gloss black, flat "blacked out steelies" or 18" Z71 alloy wheels. These various wheel options can be seen in some of my pix after the red FD Tahoe. This unmarked unit never had a drivers spotlight but it can be added if you need one. If you need the police equipment box in the cargo area or cargo safety cage I have them also. I also have brand new push bumpers too. These can accept LED emergency lights too. This 2009 4x4 Tahoe SSV runs perfectly and the interior is fantastically clean with no rips or tears in the cloth front or rear seats or fully carpeted floor. The dash is super clean and has no holes in the dashboard or radio trim. Those holes are common like so many other Police Tahoes you may have seen. But not in mine. I buy the best I can for my customers. Police equipment "Up-fitters"...aka... '' red light, siren & radio installers" always love to drill holes to mount the microphone holders on that piece of dash trim. It is rare to find a un-drilled dashboard. I also polished the headlamps too. The headlights (both Low and High beam) are all hooked back up and work as they should. We cops love our "Wig-Wag" alternating headlights. The horn works properly too. Please check that on any Tahoe you look at. Both front & rear seats are clean. I take pride in what I sell and it shows. Get the value for your hard earned dollars you deserve in a quality Tahoe. The SSV is a real ruggedly built SUV...both quick & strong. It is capable of well over 100 MPH. The Police Tahoe is legendary for their safety, reliability, durability, low maintenance costs and very high resale value. They also hold their value like no other police vehicle in the world. That is because this is the only Police car of there with a REAL STEEL FRAME underneath. The miles on this white 2009 Tahoe SSV are low and it still runs like new. Many departments keep these on patrol with well over 200K miles on them. I have personally owned over a dozen PPV and SSV Tahoes and a rare Police Suburban or two over the past 12 years. My first PPV (a 1999 Tahoe Pursuit PPV) is still going strong with 191K on it and is over 18 years old. Many of my customers are Police fire and EMS.
