It was a race car! There are some scratches in the paint. There is no structural damage. The decals were not intended to hide defects...maybe a paint chip or two. Runs and drives well. A little history: In 2007 this car was driven in La Carrera Panamericana; 2,000 mile roads race from the US/Mexican border to the Southern most border of Mexico, near Guatemala. The route changes from year to year. It is considered to be the most dangerous race in racing history. Due to the number of fatalities from 1949 thru 1954 the Carrera was discontinued. In 1988 the race was revived. 2007 was the 20th running. This Spyder carries the livery of the CANADA Shoe Company owned by racing driver Salvador Lopez Chavez, who raced Porsche Spyder 550-1 in the Carrera in 1954. The first, purpose built Porsche racing car. CANADA Shoes still exist. Permission was granted by the Chavez family to illustrate this car as it was in 1954. It was entered as an original 1954 participant. VIDEO https://www.dropbox.com/s/l5ibj75utfzvypj/Video.MOV?dl=0 Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
