TWO DOOR 1961 Plymouth VALIANT V-100 Slant Six engine - Push-Button automatic transmission This extremely rare 2-door body style hardly ever appears on the market in any condition. Production numbers were low and very few have survived. This was the most unconventional of Detroit’s early 60s crop of compact cars. The Valiant was Virgil Exner’s baby. He was head of styling at Chrysler and he made sure the Valiant looked like no other car on the market. It was inspired by Exner’s one-off Concept Cars designed by Italian coach builder Ghia. Complete car runs, drives and stops fine. Indicated mileage is 51,209 – true mileage unknown since odometer is not operating. A solid candidate to rod or restore. Purchased in 2006. Third owner.Car has been garaged for the last ten years. Extensive work has been done under my ownership. I have many of the receipts for the work performed. Engine tune-up & valve job done, wiring under hood cleaned up, wheels balanced NEW: voltage regulator, water pump, head set, front wheel brake cylinders, head lights, distributor cap, battery REPLACED: gas tank, carburetor, rebuilt transmission with new U-joint boot and clamp, thermostat housing, idler/pitman arm, heater cable A few small rust spots. Interior needs some attention as pictured, headliner needed. Includes fitted California Car Cover made of Noah Barrier Fabric.
