Vehicle Detail
For sale is an extremely clean 1996 BMW Z3 Roadster with less than 29 thousand miles. Short history on this car: This vehicle originally was purchased and owned in the far southwest until I purchased it 8 years ago with 20K miles on it. I owned it for about a year (and 2K miles) and then sold it after I got a great deal on my dream car.....a 2000 dodge Viper GTS that I couldn't pass up. Sold this BMW to a woman in central Illinois who bought it as a summer weekend driver. After almost 5 years, she had added 5K summer miles and was forced to sell. Since I obviously knew the car's CARFAX history, I immediately purchased it back from her 2 years ago when I retired and sold the Viper (needed pre-retirement backup cash). This is a really great car. Been driving it for the last two years and have not had to do any service other than oil changes and replaced the antifreeze. Only reason I'm selling is to get back into ultralight aircraft. I need the space in the garage to build wings, etc. The only damage anywhere on the car is a small barely visible vertical scratch on the rear bumper above the license plate and a small oval scuff on the passenger side of rear bumper (see super blown up pics). No scuffs, scrapes, or road rash on the stock alloy wheels and the tires have about 7K miles on them. I put a steering wheel cover on because I like the feel of a thicker wheel. The stock steering wheel underneath is in perfect condition. The stereo is a JVC CD unit that sounds nice (I believe I still have the original BMW head unit also along with diagnostic reset tool). Both leather seats are in excellent condition and even the original floor mats are nice for the mileage on the car. Everything on the car works, from the air conditioning, cruise control, electric power/heated seats, and power windows/mirrors. Front of the car has a clear protective film added to the hood to prevent paint nicks from rocks, etc. No dings or dents anywhere on the car. The only minimal surface corrosion that really shows up anywhere is under the car where there was initially bare metal components. I believe it's still the complete original exhaust system on the car after 23 years. Great college car for the grad or nice summer driver for retired folks. Gets mid 30's MPG's with the 5 speed transmission. Please look closely at the pics and ask any questions you may have.
