Black over tan interior, 65k miles, Excellent overall condition. Clear title, no liens, clean CARFAX. This is the most turn key, fast, and properly upgraded Lotus Esprit on the market that could easily be used as a daily driver. This car is better than new as the gearbox has been modified to accommodate the full potential of this 3.5 liter twin turbo V8 engine. Lotus designed this car to safely handle 500 horsepower, than detuned prior to launch to 350 hp for fear that the existing transmission could not handle the power. This Esprit is the car that Lotus wanted to build originally, and would have devoured 911 turbos of the time. ALL service and upgrades DONE BY ROHR AUTOWERKS, Brookhaven, New York. Mods include: Custom Emco gear set and shaft. ECU modified by P.U.K. Esprit Racing in Germany, “High Performance Option” , allowing higher boost and smoother running. Dash mounted switch controls low boost (0.5 Bar and high boost 1.0). Car runs much smoother than stock and combined with blow off valves, sounds amazing. Upgraded 18” wheels with fresh tires and Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Steering wheel replaced with Momo detachable unit, custom made hub. Original wheel with airbag will be included. Stereo is a flip out Pioneer unit with Bluetooth and rear camera, very nice install as wiring was done with engine out of car. Turbo boost and oil temp guage by DEFI, best units on the market and can be expanded. Hardwired for windshield mounted Escort radar, plug and play. Recently replaced within the last 5000 miles: Clutch. Timing belt, plugs, brake lines. Basically, with the engine out, anything that was serviceable was serviced or replaced. Even the AC works in this car. Engine was repainted ferrari red. Car is turn key and ready to go. By far, the best deal on a highline, yet usable exotic car on the market! I have owned this car for approximately 3 years. I had is shipped to my home in New York from Las Vegas, previous owner was an avid Lotus enthusiast and drove it regularly. Upon receiving the vehicle, I immediately put it into daily and use and enjoyed it so much I decided to make it even better. We decided to ensure longevity, it would be best to take the engine out, check everything over, replace any serviceable parts, repaint the motor and transmission, and touch up any of the black paint in the engine bay. As everything was apart, it made sense to upgrade the gear box, which has truly transformed this into another car all together. The car was originally calypso blue, than painted BLACK some time ago by a previous owner. It appears to have been a very high end paint job, as much of the car was probably taken apart for paint. Currently, the paint shines well, no cracks, but has touched up rock ships on the nose (common for Esprits), and small scractches on the left rear fender. No dents or dings. Paint correction with ceramic coating done about 1 month ago. Leather is in excellent condition, this was one of the last interiors done with real Connelly leather. Driver side bolster shows typical wear with small tear in bolster, easily repairable. Dash is perfect except for area of peeling at driver side windshield base, barely noticeable. Car has full repair receipts from all work I have done. It comes with original leather bound manual, one set of keys, solid color roof panel (no glass panel), front mounted tool kit, and wind deflector for when top is removed. Reason for selling: I have spent way over market value on this car as my intentions were to keep it. However, she needs to be driven and not stored, I simply have too many cars and not enough time. My loss, will be someone’s gain. I have more than $60,000 in this car. As a bonus, I will include a full twin light rear panel, as used in the later 2002-2004 model including LED lights. This was part of the last batch made by the original manufacturer in England, very expensive and hard to source upgrade. Car is also listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early.
