Purchased this vehicle about 2 years ago and not long after, the engine went. Cylinders 2 & 5 had no compression. I really didn't have time to deal with it so winded up purchasing another vehicle. Meantime I purchased a used motor and finally had it installed by a family member with mechanical experience, HOWEVER, basically just swapped out the engines and gave it back. The engine is good and all cylinders now have compression & running, BUT a rough & sometimes stalls in idle. Once you get past idle, engine runs smoothe. I did some extensive research and found that common causes on this truck and mileage is one or all of the following. If you have some mechanical knowledge & time, you should be able to tackle the problem yourself. I just don't have the time. Possible Issues: 1) Idle Air Control Valve, 2) EGR Valve and/or Sensor, Clogged EGR Ports on Throttle Body, DPFE Sensor. All listed above are inexpensive and pretty easy to fix. I don't want to be misleading and would like to sell local so you can see and test the truck. I would also recommend a basic Tune-up. Otherwise, the truck is very clean. Wish I had the time to complete repairs but other than time, no room for the extra vehicle. It is currently in a friends driveway.
