Relisted because buyer couldn't complete sale. 1981 GS1100E- owned since 2000. The bike originally came from somewhere out west and had some pretty bad sun damage to the paint/ instrument pod, so was replaced with the bodywork and instrument pod from another bike. ( Please make note of the pictures of maintenance records and the gauges.) Motorcycle currently has 24,000 miles on it. Mechanically- starts right up and runs great. I have taken it for a couple of shorts rides in the last month, but 2 things that need fixed on it before I recommend anyone else riding it are : 1) fork seals need replaced and 2) brakes need work- the fronts are working, but feel weak by modern standards (may just need someone better than myself at bleeding them) / the rear brake is not working (caliper piston is stuck). It could also use a choke cable, but it is so easy to start by just pulling the choke out at the carbs that I never bothered to replace. Everything else mechanically is good to the best of my knowledge- it runs really good. Chain and sprockets/ tires have less than 3000 miles on them and appear almost new (but have been on the bike for many years). Cosmetically, the paint is flaking off in various spots (see pics) , but the chrome and aluminum parts are in good shape. I think this would be a good bike to restore, or fix the few things that are wrong with it and ride as is. This will make someone a good honest old bike at a good price. Comes with fork seals, Progressive Suspension kit, all new Suzuki parts to replace the instrument pod (including the housing itself - brand new) , and oil filters (see pictures).
