My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban Z-71. The Chevy Suburban needs no introduction. It is one of those vehicles that not everybody needs. But, if you need it, nothing else will do the job. I would rate the exterior of this Suburban to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. It is finished in black over gray leather interior. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Suburban, there is some normal rust on the bumpers as well as a normal amount of scratches and other blemishes you'd normally associate with an older truck. The piece of molding trim on along the right rocker is loose, but it is just cosmetic. Aside from that, this is a good looking truck. I'd call it a solid ten footer. The paint shows well for its age and shines nicely. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. There is a chip on the far left side of the windshield. It looks contained and is not in the field of vision, but you'd want to check your local laws to see if that'll fly in your state or not. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Again, there are better looking Suburbans out there so don't expect to take home any trophies at your local Suburban show. If you are looking for a solid, straight old Suburban, please read on. I would also rate the interior of this Suburban to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show a few marks from age but are not excessively worn. The leather seats also show some wear, which is normal at this age and mileage. Still, the seats are presentable and comfortable. The passenger's side front window does not work. Aside from that, the power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. This Suburban Z-71 also has the optional rear passenger DVD entertainment system. I don't have any DVDs at my shop to throw in and test it, but it powers up and appears to work. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature settings for the driver and passenger as well as rear heating and air conditioning. The heater works fine but I suspect the air conditioner may need charged or serviced. Out on the road when you're driving, it blows ICE COLD AIR. However, it does not blow cold air at idle. This indicates to me that the system may be low on refrigerant or perhaps the fan that cools the condenser is not coming on. Rear seat room is ample and access to the 3rd row of seats is easy and accommodating. There is a generous amount of storage room behind the 3rd row. For even more storage area, the 3rd row is easily removed. These are ridiculously versatile vehicles. Mechanically, this Suburban appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.3L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The check engine light is on. The code is for a rear oxygen sensor, bank 2. The engine makes good power and feels smooth and strong. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. For an older truck, she gets around pretty well. The 4WD system is tested and working properly.
