Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 60+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with the desirable extended cab. The Ford Ranger has an excellent reputation as a rugged and reliable little truck. I would rate the exterior of this Ranger to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. It is finished in green with gray trim. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. The worst I can say about this truck is that the finish shows a little fading from age, but nothing out of the ordinary. This is a good looking truck. What is most noteworthy about this truck is the condition of the body. The body is nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. There are no major dents or damage to disclose. Additionally, the body of this Ranger appears to be exceptionally clean and free of rust. I didn't notice any body rust as I walked around this Ranger. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The bed has a protective liner to keep cargo from damaging it. The factory alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in nice rubber with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Ranger to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show a few marks from age but are not excessively worn. The seats are clean and comfortable. The center arm rest is worn, which is normal at this age. The interior is pretty basic. The windows roll up and down easily. The factory radio has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player, which appears to be working properly. The climate control system also appears to be working. The heater is a little lack luster, but you shouldn't have to worry about that for a good 6 to 8 months. The air conditioner will need charged or serviced as it DOES NOT blow cold air. Behind the rear seats is an impressive amount of cargo room. There are two jump seats that stow in the side of the rear when not in use. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Ranger appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an old truck. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. She makes good power and feels strong. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts through all the gears normally. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice for an old truck. Please keep in mind that you are buying a 20+ year old truck for pennies on the dollar, compared to new. She won't be perfect, but this is a solid old truck. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
