The Accord LX has 81,800 miles on it. It was originally owned by my daughter in Vermont--We bought it new in New Hampshire. I drove the car back to MD 2 years ago from Vermont in one day. No problems with it. In MD if you bring a car in from another state you have to get it inspected even if it is transferred from a relative.. There was considerable rust to the undercarriage and it needed a good bit of mechanical work- To get the inspector to pass it for my own use I had to replace the front brake system of rotors, pads and calipers, rear struts and sway bar. Cost me $1800.00 --however now since I am trying to reinspect it and sell it --the inspector will not pass it since he knew I was going sell it. One inspection issue that I had fixed was the exhaust system. I have had it fixed and it's good now.- Another was the rust I did about 90% of rust abatement on the undercarriage and frame, but apparently not enough to correct the inspection problems. I used the rust prevention paint after scraping off the rust. It costs $ 55 a quart. It completely seals the metal. So the car runs and starts every time, the transmission and engine function perfectly, there are no leaks but did not pass MD inspection due to remaining undercarriage and frame rust that I can not correct laying on the ground and some other mechanical issues besides the safe operation of the car. So it would be an onus to get it inspected in a state that requires state inspection to register the car For instance, States like South Carolina, Florida,Michigan do not require inspections. Every thing operates like it should, the power windows, power mirrors, the am/fm radio, cd player, cruse control, lights, etc.(the AC needs repaired). So, brakes, exhaust both good, engine runs great (@ 81,800 miles) engine & trans no leaks, daily driver And a note of interest: In January this year I took the car on the Amtrak auto train to Orlando, Florida and drove it back to Maryland. Ran great, had no problems with it. So the purchase is as is, as I can make no guarantee on it passing any state inspection/ It would best be suited for a no inspection state as above.
