Vehicle Detail
I bought this truck from an elderly gentleman in April 2006. I was recently retired and I had always wanted an old truck to tinker with so, this was the perfect time. The truck already had the present paint job and .302 engine and automatic transmission that I was told had been taken from a 1987 Ford Mustang. Over the years I have added new chrome front and rear bumpers, converted to dual exhaust, replaced the starter, replaced the water pump, replaced the fuel pump. I had the interior upholstery (seats, headliner, floor carpet, etc.) redone in black. I also redid the bed (see photos) so it looks really nice now. I also replaced the speedometer and cluster gauges with Dolphin brand gauges (very nice). These may need calibration because I don't think I did a very good job of calibration myself. The truck has manual steering and still has the original steering wheel (see photos). I had a mechanic work on the steering so now it handles very nicely although it's still manual steering. I had planned on installing a new front clip with power steering but I, too, got elderly (72 years old) and just ran out of time. The truck runs like a 1952 truck should run. I normally only used it for an hour or two every Sunday afternoon and put it back in the garage. I am selling it because I don't use it as much anymore and I need the garage space. It needs to go to someone that will enjoy it as I did. I do not profess to be a mechanic or know too much about engines and the like so I'll list as much as I can recall about this truck: .302 engine with automatic transmission 4 bbl. Holley carbuerator Hurst floor shifter Edelbrock fuel maniford 12 volt conversion new voltage regulator new fuel pump new water pump new starternew front headlight chrome linersnew chrome turn signals seat belts Dolphin brand speedometer and cluster gauges Original "Texas Truck" 1952 license plate (purchased on eBay and duly registered in Cameron County). Some of the issues: rust spot (very minor) bottom corner right front door rust spot (very minor) bottom rear hood area broken (upper right corner) left door glass Please note the 7,827 mileage listed. These are the actual miles after I replaced the old cluster gauges with the new Dolphin brand gauges and I do not recall the previous mileage. The previous owner told me that he had worked on the .302 engine prior to putting in the F-1 so the engine had a complete re-do. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. With a little investment this truck can become a show truck. I just don't have the time or energy to tinker with this truck any longer. My wife and I have had good times on this truck so we're surely going to miss it. Buyer will make pickup and shipping arrangements. This is the first (and only time I'm sure) time that I list a vehicle on eBay Motors so please forgive me if I've missed anything. I'll do the best I can to answer any questions. Thanks!
