Very reliable, starts up like it's new, idles and shifts gears smooth and quite and runs straight and strong. It essentially drives and operates as if it were new. Everything works - all the instrumentation lights, power windows, power door-locks, heater and A/C. *** Many New Parts Installed ***:- Brake pads front/rear- Rotors and drums- Master brake cylinder- Automatic gear shift assembly (Why? The shifter was sticky when in Park.)- All fuel lines- New gas tank- Throttle body assembly- Motor mounts- Shocks front and rear- Front CV boots right and left- Front wheel bearings- Front bushings- A/C converted to R-134 (blows ice cold)- All six stereo speakers replaced (front and rear, all alpine. Sounds crystal clear)- Replaced stereo with Alpine touch screen (Bluetooth)- Replacement front grill (paid $200, haven't yet installed it)- Windows 30% tinted. I thought a lighter tint would make for a classier look. Additional maintenance / repairs:- The entire under carriage has been clean of rust and road grime then a protective undercoating was applied. Rust areas:- Bottom of front grill.- Rear wheel arch, passenger side.- Front drivers door located at the foot well threshold. I would love to see this Montero go to someone who will not abuse or modify it.
