Vehicle Detail
I am listing for sale my 2003 Toyota Tacoma SR5 w/TRD Off-Road package. This truck is a salvage title vehicle rebuilt at a professional body shop in Cincinnati, OH. The truck was purchased out of NY as a total and had been in a rear-end accident. In needed a bedside replaced (TRD stickers were left off to save money), frame straightened, driver’s side rear axle shaft replaced (including bearings), Driver’s side cab repair, and rear leaf springs replaced. Since rebuilding the truck I have driven it for 30,000 miles with no issues except it needs an axle seal replaced on the rear driver’s side. Below I will list the systems of the truck and any issues associated. ***The Roof top tent in the photos is NOT INCLUDED with the truck. Body: The body is in nearly perfect shape, there is no visible rust and 80% of the truck was painted in the rebuild. There is a small dent above the passenger side windows, it is pictured. The inside of the bed has normal dents and scrapes related to use.The canoe rack stays on the truck, NOT THE TENT. Engine and Transmission: This truck runs and drives perfectly. The four-wheel drive system works perfectly as well. I regularly engage the electric posi-traction locker to ensure that it does not freeze up. The rear leaf springs are new from SD truck springs and they have airbag helpers for heavier loads. I used to haul a 1000 lbs. camper in the bed and the spring/airbag combo worked beautifully. As I mentioned above, the axle seal on the driver side rear needs replaced. Interior: The interior is in good shape for the age of the truck. I will wash the seat covers before delivery of the truck. The seats are in great shape. The rear jump seats have been removed and a platform installed for our dogs, but I should still have all of the original jump seat parts if the buyer wants them. There is an aftermarket radio that is iPhone compatible. Also, the Weathertech floor mats will go with the truck. Frame: This truck has developed rust in the frame on the passenger side, it is pictured below. This is the most significant issue with the truck. There are 3 solutions to this problem, one is to purchase a new or good used frame and swap it over. With the quality and low miles of the rest of the truck it would be worth it and you would have a truck that is good for 200,000 miles. The easiest and cheapest solution it to take it to a fab shop and have the frame plated. That is what I did with my ’97. I drove it for another 100,000 miles afterward and sold it. The guy I sold it too still drives it daily after 4 years. The 3rd solution would be to do a solid axle swap on the front end and back half the frame to build yourself a wicked rock crawler. That was my plan, but I need something safer for my new son to ride in, so I am buying a late model 4 door Taco. Tires: The tire on the truck are Good Year Wranglers with about 15,000 miles of tread. The tires in the pictures have been changed out. Again, I am only selling the truck because I need something with 4 doors. I had planned to swap out the frame and build an off-roader. I require $1000 down-payment on the truck within 24 hours of the auction ending and pickup arranged within 7 days. I would entertain the idea of meeting somewhere, but it will not be free. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. This truck is listed as-is. Serious bidders only please. On Mar-10-18 at 17:24:57 PST, seller added the following information:
