Vehicle Detail

I purchased this 1999 Suburban in May of 2011 after losing my previous '99 in my Divorce. It had just 112,000 miles at that time. I bought it from a Jeep dealer in Pennsylvania. Now, almost seven years later it has 143,000 miles. You can tell, this is not my daily driver. I pull a trailer a few times a year. It is a versatile vehicle for cargo and passengers. I'm retired as a GM Dealer line technician. Most of the more involved work, I do myself. Routine oil changes and such, I use the local GM Dealer. I don't do body work. The driver's door and left barn door are rusting. I have since upgraded to a newer 2500 series Suburban. Located in Abingdon, Maryland. I encourage you to come out for a test drive. Any questions........ask away. The listed mileage will be increasing, as I am still driving this vehicle. The following info has been added, 2-25-2018. 1999 Chevy Suburban ownership history. Purchased in May 2011. Inspected 5-16-2011 at 112,682 miles. Titled 6-6-2011. I noticed before purchasing, the ABS system was dis-connected under the hood. I am not a fan of ABS and left it that way. There are no lights on the dash. The brakes work fine. I purchased the Suburban from a Jeep dealer in Pennsylvania. I had to replace a section of brake line and the front stabilizer links to get the vehicle to pass Maryland inspection. The tires were new on the vehicle when I bought it. They are Cooper Discoverer ATR, LT265/75R16, Load Range “E”. When purchased, the vehicle had Husky All-Weather vinyl mats. I prefer carpeted mats and ordered a custom set for the truck. The original Husky mats are included in the sale. The driver’s seat had the typical worn spot in the leather cover. I had my local trim shop repair the seat using gray vinyl. Most of the seat is still leather. Service over the years performed by myself… 2014 – The AC system developed a leak. One of the metal tubes going to the rear AC along the frame had corroded through. I replaced the complete rear lines along with the rear evaporator and expansion valve. I used all GM / AC-Delco parts. The doors over time had developed an annoying rattle sound over bumpy roads. I replaced the front door weatherstrips using after-market parts. The engine oil cooler lines were leaking. I replaced the lines using GM parts. 2015 – The rear chrome step bumper developed some rust holes. I replaced the rear bumper with a GM replacement part. At that time I replaced the 7-pin trailer wiring connector and mounted it flush in the bumper. New Deka Battery installed, 4-11-15. Replaced tail lights. Replaced front lights. I have the original lights and they are included in the sale. 2016 – I noticed a gasoline odor after shutting the vehicle off. I could not see any leaks. I did find some rusty spots on the filler neck. I replaced the filler neck and the fuel cap. ……..It still had the odor. A closer inspection found a pinhole in the steel fuel line near the rear axle. Not wanting any additional issues….I replaced the fuel tank and used a nylon line kit all the way to the engine. 2017 – For some time, I had noticed an antifreeze odor, but never any drips in the driveway. Finally, I saw a drip or two. The radiator was weeping around the upper oil cooler line fitting. Tightening did not help. I replaced the radiator with a new AC-Delco unit along with a new cap and reservoir tank. I replaced the headlight switch after my knee broke the knob off of it (Dorman part). At some point, I replaced the water pump. I don’t see a receipt to put a date to it. Recent Inspection – I had the vehicle Maryland Inspected. I’m told it needs Lower Ball Joints and Brakes, front and rear.
