This is a relatively rare, 1967 Galaxie XL Convertible, that has been sitting indoors, covered, for the past five years. I have a clean, clear title in hand. I purchased this car from the Midwest about 5 years ago with the intention of restoring it, but I just don't have the time. The odometer reads a little over 51,000 miles. The car runs, but the brakes are locked up because it has been sitting in place for the past several years. It starts, shifts, and runs fine -- I tested it for several hours on multiple days. Exhaust has been rebuilt and the engine has as well. I just replaced the alternator with a rebuilt one. Barn find, almost original condition, very unique, only one year made before the trim and styling changed, triple color combo (black/red/white). It's just over 50 years old and represents a real piece of history with top of the line features for the period including: 1. A/C, 2. Power windows and door locks, 3. The optional 390 V8, 4. An automatic transmission According to the prior owner the engine was rebuilt about 1000 miles ago including the cylinder heads, new exhaust manifolds, new pistons, new rings, the block top was shaved, all new bearings, seals. The engine sounds great and revs like it has terrific power. Under the car there's new exhaust pipe. The convertible top works perfectly. The car is 95% rust free except in a corner of the trunk where it meets the back seat. Additionally, there is some rust (12 inches) on the frame, under the driver's side door that you would want to fix. As I said, the car runs and would drive except the brakes aren't working at present. I have a clean title in hand. The car is sold "as is" and I make no guarantee or warranty regarding any of the mechanical and electrical components, namely any accessory power motors or switches, the engine, transmission, and related parts. The car has all the expected XL trim level options - the 390 V8, Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, Bucket Seats. The previous owner told me that the vehicle had been hit and he replaced the driver's side door with one from a non-XL Galaxie. This is obvious from the pictures, but please note that I have the interior door panel, driver's side rear view mirror, and original power window motor mechanism to effectively convert the replacement door into an XL trim door. As you can see from the pictures, the body panels are in solid shape with no significant rust evident. The interior seats are in very good condition. The instrument cluster, center console, and other switches and vents all appear to be present and in good condition. The carpets are worn, as you'd expect. The convertible top is in excellent condition, inside and out, and has a glass rear window. Included with the vehicle are an assortment of extra trim pieces and extra window glass for the driver's side door, in addition to the other pieces needed to restore the door to XL level trim, as discussed above. The buyer must arrange for the car to be transported from Paterson, New Jersey and bears this cost entirely, though I will assist any transport company in loading the vehicle onto a flatbed or car carrier at no cost to the buyer. Payment is required at or before the time the vehicle is picked up by the buyer or their agent in Paterson, NJ. Payment must be in the form of either a certified check, money order, or cash.
