My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4x4. I would rate the exterior of this Dakota to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. It is finished in silver over black, which looks good. The silver finish has a nice shine and looks smooth from front to back. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Dakota. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. I really didn't even notice any rust on the body. As with any older truck, I'm sure you can find a few bubbles here and there if you looked hard enough...but nothing worth mentioning. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos to see how clean this Quad Cab Dodge came in. I would also rate the interior of this Dakota to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The cloth seats are clean and comfortable throughout the interior. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It's too cold to confirm that the air conditioner is cooling effectively but I can tell you that the heater works well. My only complaint about the interior is that the latch to the center arm rest doesn't catch quite right and it sometimes won't stay shut. There is a spring laying in the center console...so I'm guessing that has something to do with it. I don't get my hands on many Dakota's, but I always like them. The Dodge Dakota is a nice half step between a small truck like a Ford Ranger and a normal full sized truck. That being said, the interior is very roomy. The back seat has plenty of room for people or gear. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this truck looks. Mechanically, this Dakota appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.7L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I haven't noticed any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older truck. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good. The engine makes good oil pressure and keeps perfect temperature. The tires make a bit of road noise, but you quickly get used to it. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. I've personally put the last 300 miles on this Dakota with zero issues. If you're looking for a good, solid truck and the price of new trucks makes your butt hurt, this Dakota deserves a serious look. It's clean, solid, 4WD and has the double cab.
