We offer for sale our 1981 Honda Prelude, again. The previous high bidder was a no show. Please only bid if you intend to purchase vehicle. What makes this car so interesting and special is that it has been exceptionally well preserved. We are second generation lifelong automobile professionals, and it has been decades since we have seen a first edition Prelude that is this original and rust-free.To drive this Prelude is a nostalgic time machine experience. It drives, performs and handles exactly as it did in 1981. The engine starts effortlessly (hot or cold), the transmission functions properly, as do the steering and brakes. Additionally, all off the accessories work, including the original clock and the factory air conditioning! The 4 tires are new. This car is 100% road ready, and can be picked up at our dealership with the intention of driving it absolutely anywhere.Please give some extra attention to the photos of the interior. The non-smoker interior presents in as new condition. The seats, door panels, dash, carpets and headliner all appear as new. Although they are showing some wear, we even have the ORIGINAL Prelude floor mats. Also, please note the condition of the trunk--it is as new, with its original plastic lining material in extremely fresh and unblemished condition.The exterior of the Prelude shows extremely well. All of the critical areas (rocker panels/wheel wells/door sills) are rust free and original. The paint is still attractive and acceptable. It is not without minor blemishes that would be expected on a 37 year old automobile. It would have been very easy to apply fresh paint. However, all of the paint in the critical areas is original, and we wanted to retain the evidence of this being such a well preserved rust free automobile.The glass and chrome all remain in original and very nice, unblemished condition. What is particularly impressive is both front and rear lower valance panels remain incredibly original with old-school gravel guard texture, covered by factory applied color match finish.Of course, our Prelude includes it original owner’s manual and other miscellaneous delivery literature.The Prelude is currently stored in our climate controlled showroom and can be viewed/examined any time during our business hours. Also. it has just received a new Pennsylvania State safety and emission inspection.Note: Because of its age, the title reads mileage exempt. This Prelude is being sold AS-IS. Please know that in the spirit of maintaining a true auction, we do not disclose our reserve price. Sales tax, title fee, license fee, and registration fee are only for PA residents.
