Hello eBay family, I am selling one of my Maserati Quattroportes. I purchased this one back in August of 2017. I wanted the same kind that my friend had and when his became available in early January I bought that one as well. Since that one is a GT Sport I've decided to keep that one and sell this one I bought in August 2017. I have NOT had this car very long or put that many miles on it but I did perform a lot of service and maintenance work on it in the time I had it. I have receipts for approximately $4,700 worth of work done since September 2017. I'm an honest person and will do my best to disclose everything that I know about the car and list all imperfections so that a potential buyer can make a solid decision. In return, I expect no one to bid unless they can afford the purchase. The vehicle has a rebuilt salvage title. Apparently an accident occurred in 2010 and the insurance decided to write it off. Apparently this is not uncommon at all. For even small accidents. The cost to fix the car outweighs the insurance company's desire to do so. It has since been repaired and shows no signs of any damage. In fact 7 years and 7 + K miles are on the car since the repair has been done. Please do not ask me why or what kind of accident. I have no way of knowing. I only know what's on the Carfax or equivalent reports. There's clearly no existing damage, frame damage or any weird shutters, noises, squeaks Etc. Please take the time to read all of the information I am providing. I have gone over everything as best I can. Title: This has a California rebuilt title. I have the title in hand with no loans or liens. Mileage:The car currently has approximately 47800 miles. I repeat, I have not had the car very long so I have not put more then a thousand miles on it in the time I had it. Wheels: The car comes with the stock silver Wheels. See picture. The black 22 inch matte wheels that are on there now do not come with the car. I intend to put them on my other Maserati. However, for approximately $800 I can include them.. they are brand new with only one Little nick and the tires have less than 500 miles on it. The original silver wheels are in pretty decent shape. They drive perfectly but there is some curb rash. Warning lights:The car does NOT have any warning lights. There is no ABS, check engine, airbag, etc, warning lights. Leaks:Appears the car has very little if any leaks. I believe I have seen some quarter-size drops of oil on occasion, but not consistently or enough to warrant any issues beyond typical age and wear. When my mechanic at the Italian auto shop looked it over he said there was nothing he saw there for any concern. Mechanicals:The car works great. It drives wonderfully as well. I have a Maserati Spyder and another Quattroporte and in comparison I think that this car drives the smoothest of the three. The formula one pump on this car is really good and therefore there is no slight jerkiness off the line like there is with most Maseratis (happening to both of my other cars). The formula pump works great and starts to Prime as you enter the car. If the car is driven regularly it turns on within 1 to 2 seconds of Crank. If driven only periodically the crank time is 2-4 seconds. The Quattroporte does a full diagnostic sensor check every time you turn the car. The check engine light stays on for the required 12 to 15 seconds for the checks to be performed. The system works perfectly. In fact, best that I know every option on this car works. All of the buttons and features operate. Cosmetics-------------- Exterior: In general, the car looks great. This car is now almost 11 or 12 years old and there are some imperfections. I will list each of them now. Front bumper. Currently looks really good. There is a little bit of bubbling and a little bit of chipping near the seams where it meets the headlight and Fender. It also looks like the lower portion was respray and clear-coated to cover up probably rock chips. There's also a little spider web cracking of the paint in the corner. Not really visible unless you're up close. In general I think it looks pretty good but if you want to take this car to the perfect level, a respray of the front bumper is recommended. Fenders, quarter panels, doors:All of these areas look good with the exception of the driver's rear quarter panel where the gas filler cap is it appears to be a little indentation right behind the cap there's no paint damage so dent removal place should be able to take it out. It's not super visible only on certain angles. I have tried to take some pictures but to be honest with you is very hard to do because it's such a slight indentation. There is an occasional little door ding. On the passenger side of the car below the front and rear door there appears to be a little bit of damage. There's a crack along the pain go in the entire length of both doors. This is down below by the rocker panel and not really visible when looking at the car. In fact I didn't even notice it until 2 months of on the car when I was down on the ground changing the wheels. I'm not sure what it takes to fix it but to be honest with you it really is low and underneath and the angle makes it not very visible. Please look at the pictures. Roof:Roof looks really good. No issues whatsoever Hood, trunk:Both the hood in the trunk look really good. Only minor wear. Rear bumper:The rear bumper could definitely use a respray. There are some areas that have been touched up and a bit of spidering on both sides. It appears the previous owner has sprayed the back bumper in the correct silver color and added some clear coat. It's not as shiny as the other panels and definitely in my opinion could use a respray to make it perfect. Again from 8 to 10 ft and further you can't even tell. But up close you can. I will try to demonstrate it in the pictures. To be clear, there is no body work needed, just a respray and clear coat. The good thing about a light colored or silver car is that minor infections tend not to show up unless you're up close. Windows and windshield: All the windows work as they should. One of the window regulators were broken when I got the car and I have replaced it. The back and side mirrors are in near-perfect condition with only a slight scratches in the tint. The windshield is in good shape. They have been too small chips. One below the window and wiper lines so not noticeable the other kind of Center and about the size of half a dime. Both have been professionally sealed and are not an issue. You will see the one in the center of the windshield a little bit. See pictures. Suspension:The suspension seems to be in good condition. Drives very smoothly. Over some little bumps or speed bumps there is a little bubbling noise but it doesn't seem to affect performance. Most likely normal for a car of this mileage and age. Tires and Brakes:Brake pads have a lot of wear left. My mechanic said Well over 50 or 60%. One of the calipers weren't working very well so it has been replaced. The system has been electronically and manually bleed. The brakes work perfectly..... No fading, no shimmying and no squeaking. The tires are all of a different brand. Unfortunately the previous owner put different brands on all the wheels and I didn't change it because I change the rims to the black ones you see on the pictures. Although the tires are a different brands, The thread seem similar and the sizes are the same. I would estimate that there is approximately 30 to 35% thread on the tire so they'll need replacing in the next 7 to 10 K. Clutch: PLEASE READ. This car has the duoselect transmission. Although known to be somewhat of a problematic transmission, that is typically not the case. The issue with it is clutch wear And the F1 pump and relay. The F1 pump and relay in this car are outstanding. The duoselect is basically a car that you can drive manual with paddle shifters or in an automatic mode. Unlike automatics that allow manual shifting, this car actually uses a real clutch that is just electronically control. It does make for an outstanding driving feel. Very sports car like.... But that doesn't mean clutch wear happens. When I purchased this car from the previous owner he had indicated to me that the clutch was approximately 75% spent. He got that information from his mechanic and then he proceeded to drive another 4000 miles.. adding the little bit of mileage I have driven it since then, I believe that the clutch is probably around 85 or at worst case 90% spent. So please make your purchasing decisions with this in mind. It will probably require a new clutch in the next 7 to 10,000 miles approximately. If you drive the car in manual mode and not too aggressively it will last longer. If you Drive aggressively in auto mode it probably won't. Again, this is based on the previous owners information. He seemed straightforward and honest but I would make purchase decisions based on the fact that clutch replacement will be due soon. Air conditioning: When I purchase the car the air wasn't as cool as I thought it should be. I verified that the compressor turns on and have the freon popped up in October. Although I haven't driven it much it still appears that cold air is coming out. Although I think there's no issue with the air conditioning, I am disclosing that I am not sure as I've not had the car long enough or driven enough to see if there's a leak. Please purchase under the assumption that there might be in air conditioning service needed to get Optimal Performance. Interior: Leather: the leather in the car is fantastic. It's navy blue with white piping. The dash and seats show no rips Cuts or tears. Only basic wear expected in a car of this age in mileage. The carpets are in really good condition all around. The wood trim is also in really good condition all around with the exception of the center panel. It appears to have a few cracks up near the top by the vent. I've owned many European cars with wooden trim and this is not uncommon for this age. There are plenty of available on eBay or I do have a silver panel that I can include if the buyer wants to change the look a little. See pictures. STICKY BUTTONS If you know anything about Maseratis (or Ferraris and Aston Martins) during this time period, you know about the sticky buttons. The coating they put on all rubber pieces throughout the car has a tendency to dissolve and disintegrate and become sticky. This is especially the case with cars near hot temperatures. Google pictures of it if you want to see how messy can really get. I'm happy to say that this car exhibits very little of that. A few of the areas where there are some stickiness starting, they have been removed. I think in general in comparison to the many different Maseratis I've seen, this one is considered pretty good in that department. Steering wheel: The string was in great shape but there is a little Gap at the top where the airbag meets call him. This is very very very very common in Maseratis after a little bit of age and heat. Poor design flaw.. All 3 of my Maseratis have the exact same thing. I've added a little bit of a rubber component in there to make it less visible. I'll take a picture and include it. If you check the forums there are a couple options on ways to try to fix this but most people realize that it's just part of owning this car. Buttons: With the stickiness issue most buttons look like they're in pretty good shape. It looks like all the buttons by the radio had a vinyl decal put over them so they will look great. In fact the only buttons that look a little Tatty are down by the air conditioning unit. Just the temperature up and down on the passenger side is repainted slightly. Not really too bad or noticeable or distracting. A new unit or replacement unit can be purchased on eBay if someone wants to get a pristine look. Door jab: Another area that gets quite tatty is the driver side door jamb. Because of entering and exiting the vehicle in the seat belt rubbing this area always gets messed up. It's on all three of my cars. Looks like the previous owner has tried to fill in and repaint the area so I think it looks pretty good. Not noticeable or distracting. Please see the pictures. You can tell they were repairs but if I don't mention to you that you probably don't even really notice it. The rear ashtray area has a replacement leather piece. And even the corners of that are fixed up a bit. It's in black and not blue and does look a little odd. If I was keeping the car I would have that dyed or replaced. See pics Rust: There's no visible surface rust on the outside of the car. All the panels and seems appear solid. This was a Florida and East Coast car for a little bit so there is a tad underneath around the screws and those areas. My mechanic said there didn't seem to be any components or Bodywork that has rust of anything more than average degree. Other things: The plastic lining that goes around the inside of the trunk appears to be gone. The only reason I noticed this is because my other Maserati has it. Doesn't look bad or anything and I took a picture of it. Just seems like there might have once been some plastic trim that was removed. Leakage: For the best of my knowledge there's no leaking in this car. I have had the car through a carwash a couple times and there was no water entering the inside of the vehicle. The car stays in my garage and we've had no real rain here since last May so I am being very honest when I say that it hasn't really been tested Beyond an average car wash. The molding, Rubber and seals all seem pretty solid with no real brittle cracking or anything.. List of work I Have Done: -exhaust gasket replaced on both sides. Slight exhaust leak was present and fixed -rebuilt catalytic converters and new oxygen sensors. The cats appeared to be on the way out so I had them both replace with refurbished warranty catalytic converters. On both sides. Expensive job. -rear parking sensor replacement. Two of the four sensors went working well so they've been replaced. -transmission ECU reflash. -brand new battery with a system synchronization. Brand New Key cover. There is only one key with this car. I repeat, there's only one key available with this car. -and many other things. All work was completed by Paulo's Auto Service in San Marcos. In Italian auto shop specializing in Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini. So that's really all there is to it. A very solid, comfortable car that's performing well. Although I have not had it long I am pretty confident that this car will be a great option for someone looking not to spend too much money but still have a well-cared-for, recently serviced and reliable Italian exotic. If you're expecting to get an absolutely perfect gem for a really low price, this is not it. This car is in great shape for the age and mileage.... And is being sold at a low cost because of potential clutch changes needed and the Branded title. I require $500 deposit non-refundable. As soon as the auction ends. Full payment by cash or cashier's check must be done within 7 days. Buyers responsible for all shipping. I will Be flexible and help the shipper insure the car is shipped correctly and quickly. The car is listed locally so I might end the auction early. If there are bits over $9000 I will fulfill through eBay and not offer locally. Any questions be sure to contact me right away. You can go through eBay or call me at 858 364-9773. (Sorry for any typos. This was done using voice dictation.) Thank.Ken
