The main difference between model years are the graphics and details in the fairing. The original J spec (1988) Japanese model featured both electric and kick starting which was dropped to electric only on all later models. The Dominator is unique in that it carries the engine oil in the frame, similar to older British bikes. The Dominator has a cult following which can be accredited to its handling capability both on and off-road and also because of the recent fashion of conversion to 'Supermoto' or 'streetracker' styles.
