Vehicle Detail

I bought this VW Thing in July 2012 and had the engine that was in the car, rebuilt by my trusty Richmond mechanic that summer. He had rebuilt engines before for me and I never had any issues. He also did the brake wheel cylinders and hoses. The battery and starter have been replaced recently. Tires are fine. The car comes with 4-14” wheels, which are thing specific. I beleive the floors were replaced before I purchased the car and they are nice and solid. i filled tiny hole in front of the drivers seat with silicone-think size of a pea and one on the rear luggage area size of a pea. also sealed are a few small holes in the engine lid on the outside. Car is a driver and would look great with a new paint job or drive and enjoy as-is. wipers work. headlights used to work, I suspect it needs a headlight switch. parking lights work still. 3 of four signal looks lights work. gas gauge doesn’t work. muffler needs replacing. i have both side mirrors. passenger seat is torn and has duck tape to mend it together. has two original low back front seats. engine oil is always changed every 1000-1500 miles. I have put less than 3000 miles on it since purchase and engine rebuilt-actual miles on odometer is 88292. Engine was rebuilt at 85671 in 2012. Valves had a recent adjustment. Car is dependable; it starts, runs, drives, shifts, stops fine. It can be driven across country if you want to-i’ve driven it on 2+ hour highway trips! The gas heater is still intact and timer works. I have not reset the fuse under the plastic cover or tried to use it. the map light on the dash works. has had a dent or two pulled in nose in it’s life. front beam is really nice. in the photo the trunk is unlatched-reason for the gap. I have 4 side curtains (vinyl windows) for the car. vinyl top is tan and has a small tear which is repaired with duck tape and it’s been like that for years. Please be a reaponsible buyer as I am a responsible seller. If bidding, I expect the sale to go through. I expect the $500 an immediate non-refundable deposit at auction end. Please also contact me at auction to end to make arrangements to pay the balance by 3 days after auction end. If you change your mind, deposit is not refundable. This car is relisted AGAIN since the buyer didn’t have the money! I reserve the right to sell the car locally. Seriously interested parties may contact me with any questions. I can text additional photos ans a video of the engine running. a jack comes with car. center console does not convey with car. I plan to keep the wooden slatted floor mats, too-for my other thing project I may get to one day. I am selling to finance the purchase of another vehicle.
