Vehicle Detail
This is a very low mileage beautiful bright red 2000 Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt, Jr. signature edition car that was won as part of a promotional sweepstakes offer during the vehicle's year of manufacture. This vehicle was sold by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC to Nabisco Biscuit Company on May 9, 2000. Dale, Jr. was driving for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. (DEI) when this promotion was rolled out. Thanks to Ron Crawley, current long time employee at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet for the following additional information: “There was a total of 12 cars which were part of that year’s promotional sweepstakes offered by Nabisco and Van Camp’s, six of the cars were bright red and six were dark blue. Sam Bass, the first officially licensed artist of NASCAR, was commissioned by Nabisco for the design of the racing stripes and decals so they would not infringe on Dale Earnhardt, Inc (DEI) or other NASCAR trademarks. After several variations of racing stripes were submitted by Mr. Bass, Nabisco liked and agreed with the design that is on the car”. The original winner of this car did not need another car at that time so they put it up for sale through a Chevrolet dealership in Virginia. The car was sold to a local couple (official first owners) on October 3, 2001. They owned the vehicle until October 2017 when one of the owners died unexpectedly. The survivor opted to sell the vehicle in early November 2017. All owners have never smoked or had pets in the car. The complete interior, including the leather seats, and the complete exterior of the car is in outstanding condition. The tires are all matching Goodyear Eagle RS-A with plenty of tread life left on them. The dual exhausts have Chevrolet bowtie extensions. This vehicle has been garage kept and routinely maintained/inspected throughout the duration of ownership at a local dealership. It is in fabulous condition. The only cosmetic discrepancy noted is a couple of the racing stripes started to peel back and were cut to prevent further peeling (See pictures). The current owner opted not to have stripes repaired in order to keep vehicle in as original condition as possible. This car absolutely will not disappoint. This is an exciting opportunity for a truly dedicated Dale, Jr. fan to motor around in an eye popping signature edition car with his original #8 proudly displayed. A true ode to Dale, Jr. especially with his retirement from NASCAR in 2017. Note: I am in possession of all original paperwork and sweepstake letter that verifies the history of this car.A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours of auction close.
