Up for auction is an 2001 TOYOTA TACOMA SR5 XTRA CAB 4X4 WITH THE TRD OFF ROAD PACKAGE. The truck was purchased to help move my motorcycles etc.) to a storage unit and to help move our things from our old home to our new home. My old home is an hour from my new home and the truck performed great making several trips back and forth with not a moment of trouble. The truck always starts right up and eases into all the gears like it should. The only thing that I have found that does not work on this truck is the left front parking light on the front bumper. All the systems, like the air conditioning/heater, 4x4, electric windows/locks etc., work great. The only annoying thing to me is that the CV joints click when you make turns while in 4 wheel drive. The 4wd system itself works flawlessly and all gears and both high and low 4x4. The tires are about 60% tread BFG All- Terrains. I bought the truck from a neighbor at my new home who is a Durango CO.Fire Fighter who in turn bought it from a fireman buddy of his that also lived in Durango, CO. The first firefighter that bought the truck from the first owner who lived in Snowmass CO. This truck has been in Colorado since new and has no rust on the body or frame, but the clear coat is peeling on the hood and front fenders. I pulled the Car Fax and it was clean but, it shows an accident in 6-7-2006. I asked my neighbor about the accident and he told me his buddy was sitting at a red light on Main Street in Durango CO. and someone hit him from behind at a stoplight. The bumper was damaged, he pocketed the insurance money and left the damaged bumper on (the bumper is still on the truck). Other than that, the Car Fax is clean and includes some maintenance records on the report. When I purchased the truck, I looked at the NADA Guidelines to get a feel of what I should pay for the truck and found that the truck was in average condition according to NADA and the trade-in/wholesale price for a truck with this mileage and condition is $6050.00. Personally, I have never owned a Toyota but I am impressed with the reliability, power and overall comfort and convenience of this little truck. I would feel confident to go anywhere in it. The truck was a real help to us during the move and never gave us a moments trouble. The wheels on this truck are Toyota wheels but, they are not original to this truck. The previous owner had two sets of wheels and tires, one for the summer and one for the winter, his winter tires are mounted on this trucks original wheels and he kept them for another truck, this truck has his summer wheels and tires on it. The interior is very clean with no smells, no warning lights, no leaks, but there is an annoying little rattle in the dash and when I researched the problem I found out that basically all Tacoma trucks have the "Tacoma Dash Rattle".I have tried to tell you about my driving experience with the truck, which has been good, and I have described the things I think the truck needs as well as the annoying things I have noticed and with that being said, I am in no way a mechanic. This is the first Toyota I have ever owned and would encourage a personal inspection if you like. I cannot offer any warranties or guarantees. I have disclosed everything that I could find wrong with the truck but again, I am not a mechanic.
